  • The perfect place for us!
    5 of 5

What an interesting eclectic place! We had everything we needed there. And such comfortable mattresses. Great living room for the five of us to hang out in (the two of us and our daugter, son and daughter-in-law). The three of them live here, but my husband is allergic to dogs and cats, so we can’t spend a lot of time at either of their places. The yard looked wonderful, but alas, we were there from Dec 5-12, not the best weather for enjoying the wonderful garden, sitting area and beautiful large trees. (It’s warmer than Boston though!) We ate great meals on Division St and other places and always had leftovers for lunch the next day. The location was perfect. We’re looking into renting the Watercolor House for a week in June when the weather will be very different. Just need to coordinate with our kids. Thanks, Peyton for a great place to stay!

  • This is an Absolutely Charming Little Granny Pod.

I had a 3 night stay with 3 of my favorite ladies. We had so much fun. It seems much larger than the square footage would make you think. We were so comfortable. The beds were heavenly. What brand are those mattresses? I want one. It was the holiday season, so the surround sound system was truly appreciated. We tried to count how many speakers were in the house, but we kept losing count. Somewhere in the 20s. We left a gift of a new battery for the adorable tuna can clock which was dead. Next time, and there will be a next time, we plan to bring a refrigerator magnet from our home towns to add to the one on the refrigerator. I guess it really only gets about 4.9 stars because no place is perfect although this one is very close. It needs a full length mirror somewhere. The only mirror is the one over the sinks in the bathroom. That can be a little challenging for 4 ladies. Some type of anti slip mat would be appreciated for the tub. 3 of us are over 60 and we were a little anxious in the shower. I was nervous about the top bunk of the bunk bed as I am a plus sized lady, so we just put the mattress on the floor with the foot of it in the closet. Worked perfectly. The outside garbage can was full, so we could not put the trash out when we left. I hope that wasn't a problem for the cleaners. The dining table was perfect for game playing. The deck is adorable, though too cold for us to use this time. All of the skylights letting in as much sun as there was in December were fabulous. Might be a little challenging in the summer months. I have seen skylights with some kind of retractable shade on them. Perhaps when it is time to do some renovating you can add them. I guess the one thing that I really hated was the stupid toilet paper holder. That must have been invented and placed by a man. These are all the tiny nit-picky things most people would never comment on because there are bigger things to mention. In this little cottage there are no big complaints. I absolutely loved it. The location was great. Major arteries nearby, but the way it is situated traffic noise was no problem at all. The decor was a bit hit and miss, but the amenities were fabulous. Plenty of basic supplies like aluminum foil, salt, pepper, and condiments. Can't wait for the next visit. I have talked it up to so many people. It is really only for a maximum of 4 adults. I am thinking about building one like it to be my own granny pod! Thank you for a wonderful time.
