  • Perfect mountain getaway with modern conveniences
    5 of 5

This place is a gem! We spent our days snowshoeing and sledding in the beautiful white mountains (with two feet of fresh snow!) and our nights in the hot tub or indoor jacuzzi warming up. The nights we stayed were at or below zero outside so sitting in the hot tub with our winter hats on, below the stars with our eyelashes freezing was actually pretty fun. One afternoon we sled down the driveway and then down the front yard hill (watch out for the drop into the pond!). We loved having a wood stove and a waffle maker. (Definitely pick up premade meals at the Rumney Village Store, they’re huge and delicious and save on cooking- they don’t serve them until 430p so call ahead!). Steve and Jennifer keep this place well cared for and stocked with all the basics - plus extras- we needed. Steve was pro-active leading up to our visit - making sure we knew the lay of the land, were comfortable driving up a steep driveway in the snow, etc. - and very responsive during our stay. We can’t wait to come back.

  • Great cottage, great experience, great hosts!

We had a wonderful times at Cindy and Gary's place. The cottage was immaculate, with all the amenities one could ask for for a nice weekend getaway, and more important of all, it had great host/hostess in Cindy and Gary; who were kind, considerate, responsible, and accommodating. The place is a wonderful little cottage right by the lake, in a very serene and off the road environment, and yet it's only 8 minutes drive from plenty of shops/restaurants and coffeeshops. Overall, we'd definitely come back to this place soon, and highlight recommend it to whomever is a little wary of the humdrum of city life and is looking for a nice little break and a peaceful hiatus.
