  • Very nice cabin in a great location with great views.

First and foremost, this location and cabin layout were perfect - 3 bedrooms on the top floor, 3 on the bottom, and 1 on the main floor (the floor on which you enter the house). We had a group of 12 and had more than enough space for everyone. With a group that size, the price breakdown per room is a great deal. The photos in the listing are very accurate. The view from the cabin is spectacular and if you've been to Gatlinburg before, the altitude is at the same level as where the chairlifts from the strip stop for their scenic lookouts! We made use of the pool table, hot tub, gas fireplace, laundry room, and kitchen regularly, but did not utilize much in regard to the TV's or the Nintendo GameCube that was provided. There are a few items that need attention (some damaged curtain pull strings, a few broken light fixtures on the fence that lines the driveway, a few pots with handles missing, 2 TV remotes missing, pool table bumper loose, and a living room chair with a damaged arm). Overall, though, considering the number of rentals this cabin must get, those things are minor and we have a "punch list" that is being sent to the mgmnt. One thing to keep in mind when renting this, or any other cabin in the area are the roads to get to the cabins. The mountain roads leading to cabins in the area are not for timid drivers. The roads are very steep, the turns are very tight, and there is no room for error relative the the shoulder of the roads. Additionally, the driveways are VERY steep for nearly every cabin on the mountain. This particular property had a drive-through style setup that eliminates the need to do much backing up as you can drive down to the home on one side, park, and then simply drive up the other. Just be very careful if the roads or driveways are wet or have snow on them. As far as location, this home is a 2 min. drive to the Gburg strip, about 5-6 minutes to Ober Gatlinburg (much easier to access Ober by car and saves the $14 per person tram cost), and the drive to the entrance to the Smoky Mountains is about 5-6 minutes as well...and bypasses the traffic on the strip. There are two routes to access Pigeon Forge from the cabin, but the route that puts you on the main road by the Aquarium was the easiest and since that's the near north end of the Gburg strip, traffic was never a problem Overall, this is a great choice for a large family/group who want to experience all the area has to offer. We'll book again for sure!!

  • Nice, and very roomy

I think the chalet is nice. It definitely needs some updates. The bath tub faucet upstairs is duct taped, stove needs cleaned around the eyes, the couch bed was broken and the beds are super squeaky. We were overall pleased, it just needs some fixing up. The owners were very nice and respectful sleazily reachable when we needed something. Experiencing the bears coming up at night to us was awesome!! We loved that!!
