  • A dog's life!
    5 of 5

I just had the best holiday with my Humans, at Pembers villa in Jindabyne! Usually when they go away I get left at home with a dog minder dropping in to feed, walk and cuddle me, or worse – sent to the Boarding Kennels, which I really hate. This time, I got to go too! I heard Mum telling Dad how excited she was that she found somewhere to go where they could take me. Apparently it’s not all that common that dogs, especially big dogs like me, can stay in holiday rentals. It was so exciting, that five hour trip from Sydney to Jindy in the back seat of the car slobbering all over the kids because I just knew we were doing something really special (I just didn’t know what!). Then, when we arrived, I found I had my own outdoor room at Penders, which meant I could be outside sniffing the Snowy Mountains air, chasing my tail, doing my business, etc, but not being able to take myself walking up the road like I try to do in Sydney. To be honest, I didn’t want to escape, as I was perfectly happy and felt safe there, with nice high fences and a secure gate. My family seemed happy, too. Mum and Dad had one bedroom and even though it had four beds in it, they said they wanted their privacy for a change and my two human sisters slept in the other bedroom, which also had four beds. I wasn’t supposed to, but I snuck in and tried out one of the quilts on the beds and it was so soft and comfy! They were all raving on about the massive television and Bluray player and all the games and toys they found in the lounge room. Dad was so happy he could connect his AppleTV and watch the movies he had on his ipad. Even I could sit in the loungeroom and watch with them. Mum was so happy with the big kitchen and all the bits and pieces she found in there that she decided she would cook instead of going out to dinner like she was planning. She even took me when she walked to the shops to buy some stuff to cook on the big stove. It didn’t take us long. We all had brekkie on the balcony and we could see the mountains and a bit of the lake from there. My favourite thing was when we all went walking the two blocks down to the lake and everyone (including me) had a swim as it was pretty hot. Dad and my big sister were pretty dirty and hot after they went mountain biking at Thredbo and loved jumping in the lake too. It only took them half an hour to drive up there and they were happy Penders was so close to the action. When we got home they locked their bikes in the backyard and hose
