We had an extraordinary stay at the Annexe of the Chateau Lamothe. Laurent and Christine are incredible. The place is ... well.. It is hard to describe what is your experience there, you have to live it. It has really been like a dream. You have everything you need to have a perfect stay (swimming pool, gym, beautiful garden with thousands of flowers, beautiful old stones bulding, annexe is full equiped with washing machine, dryer, barbecue, etc... ). You need also to try the restaurant at the Chateau, where Laurent is making sure you taste the most extraordinary food from the area. Also the place is well located to visit Pyrennees as well as Pays Basque and it's beautiful coasts. Only one regret : having to leave today.

  • Sweet, quiet and comfortable gite in a lovely village.
    5 of 5

This charming little gite has everything one could wish for: full kitchen, laundry, comfortable sitting room, spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed and nice linens. It is extremely clean and well-cared for. There is an outdoor sitting area, and the owner, who has a house next door, was away and gave us permission to enjoy the whole of their lovely garden. Neighbour Daniel, who met us and gave us the keys, was very helpful and had made a fire in the fireplace to welcome us. A substantial amount of firewood was available if we wanted to use it, although the weather was lovely and it wasn't necessary. The pretty village of Moumour is extremely quiet and is only 5 minutes' drive from Oloron-Sainte-Marie. There's a local bakery for morning croissants, and a small village store. There's also a working flour mill on the river. We loved being so close to the Pyrenees, and explored the mountain villages and took a day-trip into Spain for tapas. We stayed at the gite for one week. My husband, a keen cyclist, was able to borrow a bicycle and enjoyed many rides in the area. We were able to really make ourselves at home in this charming cottage.
