Visited Milan on a golf trip with 7 other guys. We were lucky to find this beautiful villa. Silvia was great to work with and Willy fixed a great breakfast each morning to exactly our requests. The rooms were cleaned each day and replenished with clean towels. The grounds are beautiful and the property is outside the city so it was very peaceful. We played golf four days on nice courses between 20 minutes away to 1 hour. Because we were in Italy, we had early tee times so we could explore the area and enjoy the great cuisine, scenery, and history before returning to the villa late each evening. The beautiful pool looked amazing but since we left early each morning and returned late each day we were not able to use it. I highly recommend this villa to anyone or group visiting the Milan area. It is a true jewel. It would be a fabulous location for a destination wedding.
Our party of 4 enjoyed our stay at the villa. Fabrizzio met us and was very helpful in getting us oriented. The villa is located on a private, gated street and the entry to the property also has a locked gate. Milano Centrale, which is an imposing structure completed in 1931, is within an easy 10-15 minute walk. While the property is not within walking distance to the historical center, easy access to all parts of the city is via the Metro. The Sondrio (yellow line) stop is about a block away. The villa was well-appointed and has been well-maintained by Fabrizzio (who we learned designed and built the villa about 25 years ago). The second floor terrace was a good place to relax. The bedrooms on the second floor had en suite bathrooms. The master bathroom had a nice walk-in shower and the second bedroom had a tub with a handheld shower (which is typical of Italy). The kitchen was fully equipped and met our needs. About the only drawback was that toward the end of our stay, we had some difficulties accessing the internet. We went to Lake Como for a day via the train (45 minutes to Como), took an excellent day tour of the Barbaresco and Barolo region (with Davide of Milan Day Trips) and cooked a great dinner at a chef's home (Cook and dine). A couple of must do's are The Last Supper (Cenacolo Vinciano) and a tour of the spectacular Duomo. Persistence pays off in getting Last Supper tickets. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Milan. While we spent 5 nights at the villa, we could have easily filled our time in Milan with a couple of more days.
