We had a group of 12 family and friends for our stay at Villa Paula. Ivan Senior greeted us on our arrival and was very welcoming and gracious. The apartments were very clean and well appointed (except for extra toilet paper) and the number of bedrooms/bed was perfect for us.
The real highlights were the pool, the sea and view, and the BBQ area that we took full advantage of! You can walk out the fence and down a few steps to jump right in the crystal clear sea. There is a lovely public pathway along the sea and we found a little coffee place perched just above the water only a few minutes from the villa. There is a restaurant even closer but we didn't get to experience it since we were a bit out of season. It is a 5 minute drive to Tommy's grocery store and some fresh fruit/vegetable stands, as well as lovely bakery for fresh bread every day. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor cooking and fireplace and were all able to sit together for dinners outside. The pool is heated and after mid September I would definitely turn it on.
We used all 3 apartments for our group of 12. Each has its own kitchen and the top 2 floors have seating areas but the main/middle floor has a big area and table for the whole gang to enjoy and play games. The lower floor has a covered outdoor seating area with a TV. Since we had a large group we didn't have to share the villa with anyone. If you are booking it as a smaller group, you could be sharing the pool area, fireplace and common areas with other families/groups - maybe that's normal but I mention it so you are aware.
The villa is in a quiet area but only 10 minutes drive to lots of restaurants, beaches, nightlife closer to Trogir. I definitely recommend visiting Trogir and Split is only 45 minutes drive away and has incredible history and a lot going on. We had rental cars and were able to fit 3 vehicles but our big 8-seater van was a challenge to get in and out of the street. Ivan will make recommendations for parking if you need it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting Croatia again one day soon!
We booked a week at Villa Avalon for a family holiday, grandparents, son and daughter-in-law, grand-daughter aged 2, daughter and son-in law and two grandsons aged 5 and 7. The villa exceeded our expectations and is only about 30 minutes from Split Airport. The four bedrooms with private bathrooms worked really well and we asked for a cot in one bedroom. The villa is very well furnished with very comfortable beds and super bedding. The bathrooms are spacious and the daily house-keeper kept everything spotless. There are three eating areas and air-con.
The pool was clean and warm and the pool chairs and loungers were very comfortable. Pool towels were provided and the computer den, pool table and table tennis were a hit with the boys.
The views from the villa are spectacular with wonderful sunsets. You can walk along the shore path to local restaurants and bars and Trogir is very pretty and within easy reach. We found a couple of local beaches which were super for swimming and snorkelling.
We asked Anna to organise the car hire for us and that worked very well and Anna was available for any questions or advice. The villa would work well for four couples too.
We would all recommend this villa and we hope to return again.
