The villa was very nice.
The view. Three bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Lovely pool and patios. Stefania, the caretaker, was very nice.
There was only room for one car. The villa sleeps 8 so we had two cars; we had to pay for the second spot. As stated in the description there are indeed 14 steps down to the villa and a flight of travertine stairs down to the sleeping area. There are also steep metal stairs from the parking garage up to the villa. It was difficult with luggage and older folks would not be able to handle it.
Cinque Terre. Lerici was a very convenient home base to the autostrada and boats to Porto Venere.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lerici. Yes, it was within walking distance and bigger than expected. But the walk down is long, steep, and challenging. Only for fit people.
Tips or Restaurants:
Food in Lerici is great but you had better like seafood. Almost every restaurant is primarily seafood. Make reservations. Enjoy the Cinque Terre white wines.
GPS was a must.
We had an absolutely perfect 5 days in this lovely villa. The view is without a doubt the best part of this villa, but we found the villa to be quite charming, with two very nice bedrooms (with very nice linens), a queen bed nook, and a well appointed kitchen for preparing meals (including a gas grill). The private outside grounds are lovely and expansive. As others have mentioned, the steps up to the villa can be daunting, but the owner provided someone to help us with our luggage when we arrived, and there is a less strenuous route up to the villa if you choose. Personally, we enjoyed the adventure of finding new routes up to the villa each day! I found the outdoor furniture adequate, but the indoor living area could use a couple more seating options. We improvised by bringing in the outdoor furniture so that our family of four could sit together in the living area. The villa is lacking some decorative embellishments, but it didn't detract from it's charm. Be aware that there is only one bathroom and there is no internet service in the villa. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the villa and in Portovenere, and I would return in a heartbeat!
