  • Trainspotter's Dream
    5 of 5

This large 1BR apartment in Milan was perfect for my solo stay. It's proximity to Milano Centrale, and the airport buses, made it ideal for getting in and out of town quick, and I did not find it at all noisy. Instead, to see the trains coming and going was fascinating and prompted all sorts of reveries as to where they were bound. It's an impressive sight, and an almost inaudible one with the windows facing the station closed, though I often left them open just to hear the sounds of the whistles and rails and to foster my fantasies. (If you're a light sleeper like I am, closing the BR door will silence them.) And, the view of the Alps and of downtown Milano is equally impressive from the apartment. Located on the top (7th) floor of a classic European apartment building, the premises are comfortable and accommodating. The double doored and lobbied entries on the ground and apartment's floor provide a nice transition and privacy from the elevator lobbies, as well as a place to stash shoes, umbrellas, luggage, and whatever else you've brought home after a day's sightseeing or business. The kitchen is large and clean, with all needed utensils and a good amount of counter space with a large dining table. The appliances work well and the internet connection is reliable. The kitchen opens into the LR, and the two are separated by double sliding doors should you want to close the two rooms off, though I never did. The couch is comfortable, lighting good, and there are MANY channels on the cable TV, which also has HDMI ports for inputs like Amazon Fire TV or Chromecast, both of which worked well. The bathroom is rather large, by European standards, and the shower works well, with good pressure, though if you're taller than 6' and on the husky side it may be a bit confining, but nothing like the tiny cubicles that are too common throughout Europe. The sink is generously sized, and allows for an easy shave and ablutions, and with the adjoining washing machine and wall cabinet, provides plenty of counter space for toiletries. There's a clever ceiling mounted hanging clothes dryer that can be lowered and then raised when you're done using it so it stays out of the way. The bedroom and its walk-in closet with dresser provide more than enough room for a good night's sleep on the comfortable bed and storage of your clothes and gear. Tomaso is a kind and efficient host, checkin/out is easy, his rates are fair, and I would gladly stay here again.

  • Fantastic apartment centrally located in Milan
    5 of 5

We loved staying in this apartment. It is located in a great neighborhood and was within walking distance of everything we had planned to do (Duomo, The Last Supper, shopping). There are also a lot of great places to eat in the neighborhood. The apartment is well appointed, clean, relatively spacious, and a great place to relax after a full day of experiencing the wonders of Milan! Carol, the owner, was amazing, taking time to answer questions and provide guidance regarding what we were looking to do during our stay.
