Everything was as described/expected. Sander was easy to get in touch with (although we didn't need anything after we checked in). We were impressed with the number of good restaurants in the Noord area. Really quiet at night, nice for sleeping with the windows open. Not sure why this is the case, but there were very few bugs/insects in this area. We would leave the window open all night and not one mosquito came in. Very different than staying on a boat in the US, where the whole area would be covered in spider webs and swarms of wasps and mosquitoes. Nice kitchen/living area, very well equipped. The only downside is, that it is a bit of a walk to the ferry and to the nearest grocery store. Fortunately, the weather cooperated on the days when we were rolling our luggage back and forth to the ferry. But as noted in the description, the ferries run constantly. You never have to wait more than a couple minutes.
Overall, it was what we expected and a very nice stay!
My family and I (wife, 2 teenage daughters and mother-in-law) had the best stay at Martine’s home in Amsterdam. Her home was perfect for our needs and we felt comfortable, relaxed and completely at home. The home was close to all things we wanted to see and do in Amsterdam. It was close to the Metro, local restuarants and was easy to navigate via walking or public transportion. Martine and her house manager, Heidy, were very attentive to all of our needs and responded to any questions we had very timely. We plan to return to Amsterdam in the near future and we would love to have the opportunity to rent Martine home again! Thanks, Martine!
