This condo is even better than its pictures and has everything you need to make your stay a good one. Besides the spa they have a wood burning fireplace for those chilly nights but the heater works perfectly too. This place is plenty big enough for 2 couples or folks with children. The surrounding area is clean, pleasant and private but only 2 minutes from La Casa Del Zorro and 10 minutes from downtown Borrego. There is so much more to do there than I thought. California Overland Adventures in my opinion is the only way to safely tour the park since it has no cell service and they know it like the back of their hand. We only booked one tour but wished we had booked two because the park is so huge. Even if you have never done it you have to rent a UTV from Tim at Quad Stop in Ocotillo Wells. If you can drive a car you can drive a UTV but he only has a limited supply so book early. Bike Borrego has these fantastic Electric Assist bikes with fat tires that are great for seeing the desert sculptures. You do not have to be in great shape just be able to balance on a bike and be at least 5'4" because these are only one size adult bikes and the center bar is pretty high. Sorry kids but they do have REGULAR children size bikes for rent. Tip#1- It doesn't say on their website but if you are lucky Dave may book a private tour to the sculptures and it is so much fun and way more informative than if you do it yourself but book early because he only has 12 electric bikes but they are soooo fun. Also you gotta do stargazing here with Dennis Mamama but again book early because there are limited days. Ram's Hill has the best golf course but they do have several others throughout the town. Ram's Hill Resort also has the best restaurant but there are many other fun places to eat. Tip#2 - They do have 2 small expensive limited markets but if you plan to do a lot of cooking I suggest bringing food with you Tip#3- Even if you do not like grapefruit the Kiwanis stand on Christmas Circle sells the BEST sweet ruby red grapefruit anywhere from the local Seley Farms. Just $5.00 for a bag and they benefit the children of Borrego. Bring cash$ no credit cards. There are so many things to do here so make sure to check out their Chamber of Commerce site. And be sure to book enough time to get it all in.
