Casta Rica is a spectacular country. Happy people and breathtaking natural beauty. This vacation exceeded our expectations in all respects. The villa is an easy five minute drive to Dominical beach, supermarkets surfing and centrally located for easy access to diving, SUP and sea kayaking. The best part was the seclusion. Every morning we were awakened by howler monkeys and toucans with great ocean views. Spectacular sunsets as well. The infinity plunge pool was awesome especially after a hot dusty day trekking in the jungle or for a cool skinny dip before bedtime. The outdoor shower also got heavy use. The villas are well appointed and lack nothing. The oven cook top could be a bit more efficient however. Huevos took a while to become rancheros. We never went to the crowded national park in Quepos but instead saw plenty of sloth, monkey, pig, toucan and wild bugs every day in our adventures. Just keep an eye open. Local food was great but for a treat of authentic Italian food try Gusto about five miles south. Run by two ex pats from Rome. We visited the indigenous town of Boruca what an amazing trip. Scuba at Cano island with white tip reef shark. Surf lessons in Dominical and SUP in the mangroves. Hacienda Baru trek and local waterfalls. The local wildlife refuge was worth a visit if for no other reason than to appreciate the passion these people have for their beautiful country and resources. No need to battle the crowds at Manuel Antonio. If I want to see a zoo I’ll visit my sister in The Bronx. Note however that we came here in the busiest time of the year. But the best thing was about the villa is the seclusion. Every morning was magical. Blue Morpho butterflies, toucans and great coffee on the deck and a cool plunge pool while planning endless adventures. Adam Wood and his great family and faithful dog Oso were a great help especially with local knowledge and one time a set of jumper cables when I left the lights on in the Jeep. He is not kidding about needing a 4x4. While the 2 km ride up the mountain may turn off some, it ensured the seclusion which ultimately made this trip a true escape.

Family of four with 2 dogs and we loved this place. Plenty of space for our family and dogs and the pictures do the place justice. You are looking at the ocean from every room. You're not beach front but it's just across the street. There's also an amazing swimming hole with a small waterfall just up the road, it even has a tarzan swing for your kids. Unpaved dirt road getting onto the gated property, 4x4 would be best for the rainy days. Gavin was very prompt in all communications as well. Would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.
