The accommodations are fantastic especially for an extended family, with a "mother in law" apartment adjacent to the main house. Plenty of storage and bedroom space, although only one central living area makes for cozy time with the friends or family.
Kitchen accommodations are spacious but the accouterments and dinner and cooking ware are spartan to say the least. Cocktails served in coffee mugs for example. Culinary officiandos beware, bring your own gear. Agent says she will get the oven and stove fixed.
Access to downtown by bicycle fun and a breeze. Isolation when not checking out the bars is possible on your own private island.
We picked this place primarily because it was dog friendly. The place has a great deck for watching sunsets and a large grassy area to walk the dogs, although the yard is not fenced in. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfy and there was ample closet space. Some of the overhead lights were missing and bathtub didn't drain, but the owner was very friendly and responsive to inquiries/problems.
The only big complaint I have about this rental is that I had a terrible experience booking it through Evolve, the property mgmt company. I would have much preferred to just book it directly with the homeowner. I spent over an hour on the phone with different Evolve employees on at least 6 different phone conversations all because "your transaction didn't go through". I won't go into the details, but suffice to say, they were completely incompetent and no one seemed to know what was going on, but kept taking down my personal information and credit card number on three different conversations. I finally spoke to a manager who was able to fix the problem; however had I not insisted on speaking to the manager I don't know if the problem would have ever been remedied. I was told that this kind of problem happens less than 1% of the time. I suppose it just wasn't my day to have it happen 3 times.
