I highly recommend the Alpha cotta
ge. The hostesses is charming and the accommodations are clean and spotless. The local bus line has a stop a block away with frequent service north to Whitby or south to Scarborough. Since we didn’t have a car this was very convenient. A old rail way line converted to a biking/ walking trail called the cinder path passes within ¼ mile. And then there is the Cleveland way trail along the bluffs above the sea which is a truly stunning world-class 200 mile walking trail. All this and a corner market, great pub/ restaurant and a bakery within a very short walk. The cottage is on a quiet side street well away from the tourists activity of Whitby. This is a fantastic place to stay.
