I found this cabin to be exactly what I was looking for. I wanted it to be free standing without anyone else using the same structure with woods surrounding it and that is what I got. We even had a moose walking around the house a couple times. This cabin is in the thick of the forest but easy to get to. It was covered in snow the whole time I was there. Heater worked great and was able to maintain 75F one night inside while it was -44F outside. Very quaint living area and kitchen. Too much snow to enjoy the very large deck. Extension cord was available for the engine block heater. Mark is a great host. He lives walking distance away but you can’t see his place or hear them because of the trees. He came over a couple times to help me with a couple things and found him to be very accommodating, very friendly and helpful with references for restaurants and things to do in Fairbanks. I would not suggest eating or visiting Ivory Jacks at the end of the road. I would highly recommend stopping by Tails of the Trail and meeting Mary Shields, she is a 70 year old woman that holds the title of the first woman to ever finish the Iditarod. You will pass her quaint cabin on the way to this one. Mark is very laid back and will be there if you need him. Highly recommend renting this cabin!!!
