My Wife and I were getting away for a little over a weekend, for the last time before we have our first child. The house was clean when we got there, and everything looked as it had been advertised on the website. My only concern was that the hot tub was not being properly cared for. We wouldn’t have been using it anyway, as it was the off season, but the water was cloudy, and not appealing to look at when I took the cover off to check. Other than that, we loved the house, and will consider going again if we come back down!
We stayed here for 5 nights while we explored the historic triangle area. The house was decorated well for the holidays, which was a nice plus since we arrived Christmas Day. The master bedroom upstairs is quite large and has a private sink area off the main room. There is another sink with a tub/shower that can be entered either through the master or through the hallway. The other bedroom has two bunk beds. It was a great set up for my husband and I and our two girls. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with and there was a dining room that easily fit the 4 of us...could have fit 6 if needed. A sitting room with a fireplace, (non-working but still nice) has a couch and two chairs. The tv room adjoins the kitchen and has two couches as well. We didn't use the TV's in the bedrooms but they were available. The kids room had a substantial movie collection for the tv and the living room did as well. There was also Netflix available. Another 1/2 bath and washer/dryer are downstairs as well.
The house was pretty clean when we got there. A few things had been missed but they were minor: sticky fridge and dried spaghetti sauce on the table but the overall impression was of a well-kept and clean house. The bathrooms were clean with lots of clean towels as well. The only slight drawbacks (and reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5) was that the kids mattresses were a bit worn and uncomfortable, with kids saying they could feel the springs. The king bed in the master did not have this issue, just the normal indent in the middle. The sheets on the master bed were polyester. I know that is the snootiest thing ever but it was scratchy. (We aren't high thread count snobs, my go-to sheets are target brand!). Lastly, the black couches in the living room were hard and uncomfortable.
That being said, I would recommend this stay to anyway and am grateful for the opportunity to share her home!
