First, the good. This house was 5 minutes from Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. It couldn’t have been better placed for a few days in the area. Its layout was good for 2 couples, although probably better for one. It has a modern, open style, with the living area open to the patio and pool with wall of glass and sliding doors. The master bedroom on the second level is amazing! It also features floor to ceiling glass with sliding doors, overlooking the patio and pool, with a view of the LA. Large dressing area. Lots of closet space. Great shower/tub. Really the best room in the house in my opinion.
Second, the not quite as good. The house has been around a while. Many of the things it contains, like vintage built in stereo, or in-the-wall toaster in the kitchen, give it a nostalgic feel, and you can just picture how very modern it was at one time. Unfortunately, most of this cool stuff doesn’t work. And while some of it has been handled (a new toaster on the counter for instance), after a day or so you sort of just wish everything worked and weren’t neat looking museum pieces. Also, be aware there are a LOT of stairs. If you or someone in your group isn’t up for that, you might consider a different place to stay. Also, remember your in LA, so even though it looks peaceful in the pictures, there are neighbors fairly close, and you'll probably hear them.
Having said all that, it’s a very neat house, and worked very well for what we needed. The owner was very nice and easy to work with for the stay. We enjoyed it very much!
This stay at what can only be described as my dream house was everything I expected and more. The house and all it’s high-end appliances, facilities, and design made my staycation a memorable treat. Linda was so helpful with communication. And the pool and view, for the price point, can’t be beat.
