To celebrate graduating high school, 12 young men in Colorado Springs put their money together to pay for a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks. They planned the trip, picked out the property, booked it, and asked two of us Dads to join them.
They could not have picked a better property! We drove 850 miles for this vacation, and it was perfect. The house is a nice cove in the middle of the lake, the house easily accommodated all of us, and the three floor layout was perfect to get some separation from each each other, and still let everyone talk, play their music, etc. The boys never got into a car the entire stay - as we were able to rent a large pontoon and play on the water all day, boat to various restaurants, etc. In fact, they would have spent the entire vacation on the large dock fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc if we let them.
I rented a house on this lake four years ago for my older son's graduation trip, and our younger son wanted to have the same great experience with his friends - so we were looking to improve on our first experience in the area. I also own a dozen vacation properties in Breckenridge, Scottsdale and Cabo - and this house exceeded all of my expectations! We would definitely go back to this property before taking a chance on a different, and untested, house on the lake. It is hard to imagine what we could improve upon with another house.
The owners were also very helpful. They shared a lot of good tips on the area before we arrived, so we were able to have our boat reserved, fishing planned out, and we had a couple restaurants on the lake already lined up.
What a great experience these young men will always remember!
