  • Great cottage for 2 and is as shown in the photos
    5 of 5

My daughter and I came for 2 nights with our 2 small dogs to celebrate my birthday. Scott and his son were both available if needed and the cottage was just as described and very clean and check in was perfect. It is on a small side street that leads to the beach, 150 feet as stated. There is a sign no dogs allowed on the beach but it did not seem to be enforced. Restaurants and shops close by. Englewood Beach is the perfect place to unwind.

  • Phenomenal amenities and setup to maximize a great location! Owners have created a vacation haven!
    5 of 5

The owners of Stump Pass Place have clearly focused on facilitating a great vacation. The amenities provided address every aspect of enjoying the beach and location. Paddleboards and kayaks are on a rack on the side of the house, and tow carts are available for easy transport to the launch location just down the road, at the State Park entrance. When returned, the boards & kayaks are easily hosed down by the provided outside water, so that they’re fresh for the next day. We took the paddleboards down to a gorgeous beach about 1 mile down the bay side, carrying along the umbrellas provided. In addition to umbrellas, there were lifejackets, goggles, masks, & snorkels, beach chairs, and even coolers available – all included in the rental fee. Upon return, there is a convenient outdoor shell washing station with two taps & hoses, and two outdoor showers fully equipped with warm water and soap. Each apartment has a dedicated, labeled grill area and the grill was stocked with a starter bag of charcoal & lighter fluid. We borrowed the bicycles for several joyrides up & down the key, and into Stump Pass State Park. The apartment itself was also very nice – plenty of dishes, pots, towels, etc. Relative to location, it is a paradise – a plethora of wildlife on the beach, in the State Park, and in the bay side. The scenery is gorgeous and the narrow key provides ready access to both bay and ocean side. The red tide was active while we were there which did make the ocean side largely unusable (except for helping the turtle patrol in the mornings!) – but the bay side was unaffected and we had a wonderful vacation. It would have been difficult with small children however; my teens were able to paddle themselves to the unaffected beach on the bay side of the key.
