  • A Beautiful area.

It was our first time to this area and found it to be a gorgeous place. The beach was perfect and I loved being able to walk as far as I wanted on a daily basis. It was very convenient running into Bath a couple of times to get things we needed in town. We found Plants Seafood in Bath a great place to get seafood. They had fantastic fresh crab meat which is something I like to get every time we come and stay on the coast of Maine. We found Deb very nice to work with and she was very helpful with several things was asked her about. The cottage was well stocked and the fireplace was nice to have on the cool nights we had as was their heater. The tap water is very good and we didn’t need to buy drinking water which was nice. The only things I’d recommend they add to the cottage is a dish rack tray for under the dish rack seeings we have to hand wash our dishes and we cooked daily. It would have been nice to have better privacy curtains on the back of the cottage in the back bedroom, kitchen and bathroom for more privacy. We felt like there was no where to undress and felt very exposed a night. Other then that we really enjoyed our stay and plan to stay there again next fall.

  • Better Than The Pictures

The Cottage was one of the best places we’ve stayed in Maine, and we’ve visited four other locations. It’s clean, has comfortable beds, and is charmingly decorated. But the very best thing about the cottage is the 180-degree view from the windows looking out at Penobscot Bay. It’s even better than these pictures. The sounds of the sea birds and the waves is so calming and peaceful. Watching the changing tides is fascinating. Yes, I did find some sea-glass. 😊 A short drive takes you into Belfast, a picturesque town of wonderful restaurants and shops. Must recommend Delvino’s for amazing Italian, Dockside for great lobster rolls, Darby’s for the freshest Haddock anywhere, and Harborwalk for the largest salads I’ve ever eaten. Don’t forget to try the blueberry pancakes at Country Rose between the cottage and the town. Who knew you could include that many blueberries in a pancake? Anytime you don’t want to eat out, the Hannaford Grocery Store is more than capable of handling your needs. Of course, you want to make a trip into Camden for a sail on one of the schooners. We went out on The Surprise. The views are spectacular. The Penobscot Marine Museum up the road a short distance from Belfast to Searsport is a must. Some days we just hung out at the cottage. As I mentioned it was restful, beautiful, and peaceful. We had wonderful weather, just cool enough to use the fireplace. We hope to return next year to take in the gorgeous foliage again. Thanks so much to Fran and Ellen for sharing this jewel with others.
