This is what you would want to experience in a Loire valley stay. The cottage had opened beamed ceilings, very comfortable beds, and esquisite decoration. The well equipped kitchen was modern with a lovely dining area. There was an outdoor space with a beautiful garden with an outdoor pool. The hosts Maia and Frederique are very warm and hospitable. Highly recommended, we wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed for a month (as we did in 2011) at Moulin de la Placette. It's an ideal location from which to visit Anjou and, more broadly, the Loire Valley, with its markets and many interesting sites. Faye d'Anjou is absent the hassle of larger touristic towns and contains the best boulangerie we met in France, and Angers, a mere 30 minutes away, is a fascinating city of quite wonderful sites.
The gite was clean, well-maintained and very comfortable. Keith and Pauline, the owners, were models of thougtful courtesy, even keeping the pool open at the end of September for late afternoon unwinding after busy days. We would unreservedly recommend this vacation spot to anyone heading to Anjou. We'd also strongly recommend at least one meal be taken at Bistro des Carmes, in Angers.
