  • Charming Keokuk Cabin
    5 of 5

Julie has a charming home to share. We had all we needed and wanted and were very comfortable. The kitchen is convenient and there are plenty of sleeping spaces. There are also many spots to sit and visit, inside and outside. It felt like home. There is a lovely yard to explore with perennial flowers and bushes. We saw deer and songbirds and heard bullfrogs. Got to see geodes being split. Enjoyed the night sky from the front deck. Got to see and hear daily freight trains. Whoever heard a train would yell "Train, train" and we'd all run to watch. Didn't wake us at night, though. The view of the Mississippi is outstanding. Could sit and look at it all day. Enjoyed exploring Keokuk, too. Direct route to get to Rand Park, Grand Ave., Main Street and Victory Park. Lock and Dam 19 is very interesting. Saw barges and a towboat going North through the Lock. The George M. Verity River Museum is a must to visit. A great tour and gifts to buy. A memorable trip for all four of us. Would love to stay again sometime. Thank you Julie.
