The house was cozy and the pool was warm. The house was close to the action on the square in Seaside.

This home was very nice for a family of 3 to stay in over Mardi Gras Break. A couple of things I want to point out, construction and alligators. To the left of this home, there is a new house being built. To the right of this home, there is a new house being built. That's construction on not one, but two sides of the house. We chose this home because of how peaceful and relaxing it looked on the canal. It was frustrating and disappointing to be woken up at 6:30 every morning because of this construction that then lasted all day. The website for rentals does state that they don't provide refunds for this, which is fine, but I would like to have an advanced notice up front that maybe I should bring ear plugs or a noise machine to drown it out so I that can enjoy my stay. The other thing that drew us to this home, was the fact that you could kayak on the canal. My brother and I were very excited. We set off to kayak around noon and we get 10 minutes down the canal, and as my brother is paddling, I look up to a HUGE (at least 8 foot) alligator sitting in the brush, staring us down. It then jumps out in front of us, and I promise you, I have never had my heart beat out of my chest faster than it did right then. My entire life flashed before my eyes. God must've really been watching over us that day because I really thought it was going to end a lot differently than it did. Upon speaking to a nextdoor neighbor, he said that a woman had also given a warning of a big alligator but wasn't taken seriously because no one else had seen it. Let me assure you, this guy definitely does exist. Signs need to be posted, or people need to be made aware that there are alligators in that canal and it is honestly not a safe place to kayak. With all of this being said, the house itself was great. Very clean, very spacious, and we did have fun. I would definitely stay again and even recommend it, but to advise caution at any point on the canal of alligators and to bring ear plugs. Thank you again.
