  • Clean and cozy cabin in a semi-secluded location!

The cabin was very clean and well maintained. It’s small and cozy - would be perfect for a family of four! There’s a pull out couch in the living room for extra people. The wood burning fireplace was wonderful! Kitchen had most essentials, but needs to be checked. Some things like salt and paper towels were absent. Also, when we arrived, the heat was completely turned off and it took half the day for the cabin to warm up (this was December). You also have to bring your own laundry detergent if you want to wash your clothes! It’s mostly secluded, but you can see one more cabin. It has a bit of a mountian view, but mostly woods and trees. Communication with the owner was great! All of our questions were answered in a timely manner.

Everyone loved it! The fickle nature of weather gave us chilly rain pretty much every day we were there. Aside from that, we got to enjoy many nice drives, and we went for a couple walks that were satisfying enough to ensure that we will return in warmer climates, or even colder ones (we were hoping for snow). The cabin had every kitchen widget one could ever need. I had brought much of my own stuff (french press, measuring cups/spoons/mixing bowls, etc) that I will leave next time, because it was all there!. The house is cozy and space was abundant, the fire pit area looks great and we look forward to using it the next time we stay at the cottage. Excellent collection of old disney VHS' totally kept our 4 year old enraptured in the evenings. There's also an old boom box that picks up this fantastic classical station out of Charlotte that kept me company while I spent my time in the kitchen! The point here is that even if you get stuck in the cabin because of the weather, there's a apple TV with netflix/hulu, tons of great board games, awesome video collection, a well appointed kitchen and tons of comfy places to read a book. It was great, we will return, Marc is an excellent host and was clearly available to us if we'd needed him. Jefferson & West Jefferson are great, Boondocks has a great beer selection, the cheese plant is an excellent pit stop and the apple butter across the street was an outstanding choice if I do say so myself. Thanks again Marc!
