This was my second day with Evelyn and John at the pleasant, clean, quiet, and conveniently located Daffodil Cottages. I will stay there a third time this summer. There are three cottages, and I have stayed in the same one. Evelyn is easy to deal with and gets back with you quickly, within an hour or so. On my first stay, they allowed me to mail materials I needed for a conference to their home and had them waiting for me at the cottage when I arrived. I normally have trouble sleeping when I travel, but that is not a problem when I stay there as it is peaceful and quiet with areas for sitting outside. It's a 10 minute jaunt to Orleans for a major grocery, but there are convenience stores nearer. Restaurants are also near by with a couple being across the street, and a good coffee shop is within a 1/4 mile of the cottages. Highway 6A, AKA Kings Highway, is a busy thoroughfare but has pedestrian crosswalks. Getting out from the cottages if you want to turn left can be a bit problematic, but eventually someone lets you out. Lots of good restaurant options abound within a 15 minutes drove.
I particularly love the isolated feel of the cottage with wooded parameters although the cottage is actually located near other residences. But the cottages feel more secluded. The bike trail is about 100 yards away which makes for great walking, or rent a bike and make a pit stop at the cottage if needed.
I have had only one minor problem occur with my stays. The fan had not been reported as broken by the previous tenant, and John brought a fan pronto. Internet is great.
The cottage in which I stayed has a small shower. I'm a large guy, and it feels tight. (Think European showers.) It's not really a problem for me or my wife, and certainly would never keep me from staying there. The cottage is furnished well if you would like to prepare your own meals.
Beaches are about a mile away on the Cape side, and Evelyn provides beach towels. Nickerson State Park is also close by.
The best part of the entire thing is the price is a bargain. I hesitate to rave too much as I like being able to stay there and don't want them to become overly popular. But I depend on reviews when evaluating a place, and I need to provide one to help out other travelers. If you are expecting luxury, stay somewhere else. If you want an adequate, clean, quite, well-priced option perfect for a couple, or a couple with a small child or two, this is a great find!
