This was the first time to SPI for 7 of our 8 folks. They were not disappointed.
The condo was very cosy for our group of 4 adults and 4 children (ages 14, 12, 12, 9). The condo was clean and neatly arranged. Walk across the street, for super close beach access.
Only downside was that two kids had to sleep on sofa sleeper... and it was thin and lumpy for growing boys. Maybe invest in thicker mattress or second bed in master bedroom. Other than that the place was great! We are so glad we found this condo.
There were free sand castle lessons on the beach during the week and the kids were able to rock out three huge sand castles. That was their favorite part!
The two best restaurants on the island are Yummies for breakfast/brunch and The Meatball Cafe for lunch/dinner. The food was so good at both places we went back another day!
We also tried Capn Roy’s and Blackbeard’s....let’s just say we were not impressed.
There was a list on trip advisor for free things to do.... basically none of them are actually free you pay and entry fee. Except for the Whaling Wall and the Laguna Madre Nature Trail, both at The Conventions center... the view at the end of the boardwalk was worth the walk!
We also went to Sea Turtle Inc., very cool place! And the Lighthouse at Port Isabel.
We really enjoyed our stay at SPI. We will definitely be back.
