We stopped in Nancy to see the finish of stage 4 of the Tour de France. Great little apartment for 2. We had our teenage daughters sleep on the convertible couch, which was fine, but a great place for a couple.
The owner was great. He helped bring our luggage up the 3+ flights of stairs. Be prepared, no elevator... it really wasn't as bad as it sounds though. He delivered croissants and baguettes at 8am every morning and had home made marmalade, orange juice, yogurt and milk waiting for us when we arrived.
We enjoyed the city- great restaurants and shops nearby. The city square had an incredible light show that started at 10:45 every night- not sure if it was a special show or if it's just something they do normally.
We will definately stay there again.
My husband and I stayed for two nights in this huge studio apartment in June. We had been travelling in France for a month and Nancy was our last stop before heading home. We voted this apartment our favourite accommodation. We arrived on a Sunday and found free street parking outside the building. We only needed to pay 5+ euro for Monday. The kind owner gave us a one euro coin when she found we were short on change. The apartment is beautiful and very, very well stocked. There was a bowl of fruit, bread, and a gift-wrapped jar of jam--everything we needed for two breakfasts! We are only sorry we could not stay longer in such comfortable digs.
