  • A great home away from home in wine country
    5 of 5

My fiancée and I, along with our Newfoundland, decided to get away for a few days to relax in the midst of wedding planning, and retreat to PA/NY’s wine country region. The Westfield House was a great home away from home for us, as the house has ample space and a great kitchen that’s very spacious and is equipped with pretty much anything you could ever need (we love to cook and had everything we needed). The grounds have a small vineyard, multiple fruit trees, and a pond - very peaceful. Apart from the house and grounds, the location cannot be beat. The house sits on Rt. 20, which is the wine country trail of the area. The Johnson Estate winery is literally across the street and multiple other wineries and distilleries are a very short distance away. Our Newfoundland loved swimming in Lake Erie, particularly at Barcelona Beach which is only a 5 min or less drive from the house. The Erie state park is also a very short drive, about 15 minutes. Chautauqua Lake, depending on where you wanted to go there, was about 20ish minutes away. Bemis Point is a really cute little town along Chautauqua, with lots of cute little shops, restaurants and street vendors. We went there to try to spend the day with the dog but the water was extremely scummy this time of year so the locals advised we take him swimming at Erie. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Westfield House, particularly if you have a large group since the house can sleep 8.

Home was cozy in a quiet neighborhood, and close to lake - easy access to dock for fisherman and relaixing views of the water. Loved the outfoor Bose speaker when sitting on the deck! Easy drive to any local lake destinatiion.
