  • Unreal sunsets!
    5 of 5

This is a wonderful property. Right on the beach, very private and safe (as all of Grand Turk seems to be). Most days we felt like we were on our own private beach, rarely seeing other sun-seekers on the beach. The home is well furnished, with a super nice layout so family can be together inside and out. Air conditioning in every room, but the fans in every room were all we needed in December/January. Super clean and new. Jayne is a wonderful host who responded quickly, was super nice and helped with anything we needed before and during our stay. We were comfortable with 6 adults. The sunsets are unreal! Prospective renters may want to know that there was some sargassum (seaweed) on the beach (it seems to change every day though). This species was not unpleasant though. The water is very shallow at that part of Pillory Beach, a mix of sand, grass and rocky. I needed water shoes to walk out into the ocean. We did some snorkeling, floated, and paddle boarded (our own equipment), but you need to get beyond the shallow part. During our stay there was always a pleasant breeze and we did not notice any biting bugs. Jayne provides chairs with leg rests, beach chairs and a sun umbrella for comfortable seating on the porch, the lawn, and the beach. We loved this place. And we loved Grand Turk. It's secluded alright, so be sure this is for you.

  • New and comfortable house on familiar beach
    5 of 5

Island Passage was our second choice when a frequently-used place was unavailable. Now it would be the first choice for our family - 5 adults this time around. A small associated one-bedroom cottage would allow for more. Newly refurbished post 2017 hurricanes. Three bedrooms - fine though small, and more shelving/hanging is needed in two. Largest bedroom and bath can be closed off from general area. Many ceiling fans, so only used AC in bedrooms at night. Huge, well-equipped kitchen, an extremely spacious living/dining area with several couches, easy access to the beach via a gate from the fenced yard. Much time was spent on the large well-furnished deck, partly protected by sun shades. Good beach but water entry is a bit tricky because of coral ledges, changing tides. Manager Anita was very responsive and helpful. We were happy that "our" potcakes found us at the new house, not as happy when we didn't latch the gates well and found 9 donkeys waiting for breakfast one day! Grocery shopping is improving, including sources for baked goods and home-made ice cream. There are both new and old favourite restaurants. Walking distance to town's historic waterfront , dive operators, bike rentals, but not for groceries or cruise ship terminal.
