We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment in San Quirico. First, the apartment was exactly as represented in the photos online. While it's inside a very old and charming building with a lovely courtyard, once you walk inside its entirely modern and updated. The owners left us pasta, and a selection of wine. You just pay into the wine box on the honor system if you want to take a bottle. As for the location of the apartment, I can't possibly say enough great things. It is located on the main pedestrian through-way of this small village. At night, we just walked out the door and down the street to find a choice of maybe 5-6 great restaurants, a gelateria, and the main piazza. In the evenings, all the locals hang out on the piazza with their kids, who play until after 10 pm.
