  • Comfortable home for a large family vacation

Our extended family of 8 (including one 3-year-old) stayed at Carpe Beachem for a week over the New Year's holiday. The house was very comfortable for three married couples and one dad+daughter. It is close enough to the main street and pier to walk to restaurants and bars, but far enough away to be undisturbed by late-night revelers. Twice we walked to dinner at nearby restaurants. We also made the trek to Savannah for a delicious meal at the Grey. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment, utensils, pots and pans. It isn't well organized, but we managed to find everything we needed. The house was also stocked with minimal bathroom supplies but the IGA market around the corner is convenient and reasonably priced. The weather was outstanding and were able to rent bikes for an island exploration and visit the lighthouse on the north side. We even did the polar bear plunge on New Year's Day. For a large family vacation, Carpe Beachem is just about perfect.

Great location and privacy. I really enjoyed how inviting the outdoor space was. Tybee Island was a great place to vacation. I recommend bringing or renting bikes.
