With a days notice we locked in a Thursday Friday stay. Was coming from the Midwest notified host (Zann) I was coming in about 4pm. She was quick to respond to my questions and concerns and she even went in early to get the AC to a comfortable temp. The property was great. Just what we needed. Out of the city and in the country. Perfect deck to have a morning coffee and sunset with a cold one in hand. The house came with everything needed for the stay. Was have to make a couple great meal and breakfast every morning. I can’t say enough about the host Zann. Sweet lady that help with any problems. When asked if she knew of another local BnB to stay Saturday night she offered but a basement studio. And durning our check out in the morning she joined us for a cup of coffee and made great conversation. I highly recommend and will be back myself, hopefully soon.
Nice cabin, clean and spacious. Less than 5 minutes from the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah NP and about 20 mins. from downtown Luray. The cabin fit our party of 4 without feeling cramped, it could easily fit 6 people.
Google Maps could not properly place the cabin, so just follow Carl's instructions for getting there and you won't get lost. The last half mile of the road is well maintained gravel and the driveway is steep (though this part is paved). Our SUV had no trouble with it but I would not recommend bringing a sports car.
Though the cabin is very clean, we saw some bugs inside (mostly ants), I suspect this is unavoidable given how deep in the woods it is.
Overall, if you can't stand bugs or being without signal (our TMobile phones could not get one), this cabin is not a good match for you; on the other hand, if you want peace and quiet and value being close to Shenandoah, this cabin is an excellent choice.
