Excellent House!

Beautiful house in a scenic area with all the comforts. We had a great time staying a couple of nights. The property manager was very friendly and helpful during the check in process. Overall it was an excellent house!

Dreamy French Castle

If you’ve ever dreamed of staying in a French château, this is the perfect home for you. The house was beautifully furnished, offering an incredible amount of space for our family to move around comfortably. The kitchen was a chef’s dream—fully equipped with every utensil needed to prepare a meal.Our family slept soundly, thanks to the exceptionally comfortable mattresses and furnishings in every room. When traveling with a large family, especially with little ones, the bottom floor was ideal. It had its own kitchen and a private space to retreat to when needed. The game room was a big hit with everyone as well!One of the most wonderful aspects of this home was the ability to unload and walk in with no steps—something that’s rare in Massanutten. That convenience made a huge difference. We will definitely be returning to the Château!

Short but sweet.

The place was everything it said it was and we divided floors by families giving each family a bathroom which was a bonus. We loved the view of the slopes from the back porch and loved sitting in the kitchen for socializing and eating. It was awesome. We'll be back.

VA Family Reunion

We enjoyed the house and rate 4 out of 5. Large house for our 7 adults and 7 children. Everyone had enough space. Some items needed attention which Pam the owner took care of fixing.

Will Rent Again

We had a wonderful family weekend and will definitely rent this house again. I am so glad I didn't give much weight to the negative reviews. The owners were fantastic to communicate with and very understanding when we needed to reschedule our trip due to circumstances out of our control. There was plenty of space throughout the house for family meals, game nights and just hanging out. We went snowtubing, skiing, snowboarding and to the Waterpark. This was our 4th visit to Massenutten over a 7 year period staying in different accommodations each time. We will definitely rent this house again on future trips.

Great family weekend!

My family lives in 3 different states so we met in the middle and had a great time! The house is beautiful with lots of room. The main kitchen is bigger and nicer then it looks in pictures. The setup in the basement with all the table games, card table and board games made for a great day of family time. The cousins loved having their own floor in the attic while the parents enjoyed the elegant living room. The first day we had some issues with the heat but the owners were amazing and so friendly - they fixed the heat remotely and we were all set. Highly recommend if you want a nice, quiet get away.

Great trip

We enjoyed our trip. The house was very spacious with plenty of space for 4 families. The kitchen is enormous and well equiped as we relied on home cooked food during the trip. The game room is amazing and kept us entertained. We were under the assumption from the listing and follow up email that there was a gas and barbecue grill. There was only a gas hriddle on the patio. As soon as the host was notified, she made sure a gas grill was delivered within few hours. The place was very clean. There was a problem with the laundry door and it almost fell on us. Needs repair to avoid injury to other guests. Although the first email from the host was intimidating then welcoming (lots of red, highlighted and bold text), after speaking to Pam, we understood her concern for her beautiful home with unfortunate experienced with prior guests. I would definetly consider staying here again.

Nice House but pumping was awful

The house is absolutely beautiful. But the moment we walked in we had pumping problems. Water line broke, due to water damage a light fixture feel from ceiling and almost hit my two nieces. Floor was so slippery in the basement, people were slipping and almost hitting the floor. We had to do a lot of cleaning up leaking water, dumping gallons of water in toilets to get them the flush and then unclogging a toilet. First day we had no running water through the next morning. Throughout the entire weekend, someone was always on cleaning up water duty and checking for leaks. We did get a night refunded, We wanted to enjoy it and relax. However, it was just a lot of work to fully enjoy our vacation. Without those issues, this would be a awesome vacation house for a big family.

Beautiful Chateau

The house is exquisite. Perfect for a large family to ve together but also have enough space to get away from one another. The grounds were full of deer . The beds were comfortable and owners very accommodating.

Cozy and Clean home for Family Getaway

We rented this home for a family ski trip. The house was easy to find and good proximity to the resort ski attractions. The house had no "weird" smells and was very clean. It felt immediately like home. Another remarkable thing is the quality of the build. The home had decent sound proofing which helped everyone get a good nights' rest despite a few crying babies. The house is well appointed with all the essentials. There was even a high chair that was perfect for the infant. The older kids were occupied by the foosball and table tennis tables. The house also has plentiful outdoor areas on the main floor and bottom floor. We didn't get to utilize the areas due to the weather but it would be a treat in the summer! I highly recommend this rental.

Snow Trip

This house is absolutely perfect. Can't beat the location. It is super close to everything. Less than 5 minute drive to the slopes and snow tubing. The house is stunning. The furniture and decor are beautiful, but it also feels warm and comforting. The house has so much space and a huge kitchen. Lots of bedrooms and places to sleep. The game room was super fun with the kids. Overall, one of the best places that I have stayed at with VRBO, We really enjoyed our time.

Christmas Delight

Our family stayed at The Chateau for Christmas and it suited our needs perfectly. This is a beautiful and spacious home, very well maintained, with every amenity. The owners were extremely responsive to concerns. I highly recommend this property. We would love to return next year!

Great family get-together

We had a multi-generational family gathering for thanksgiving. The house is large and spacious and was a great fit for our needs. Our only complaint was that, with the cold weather outside (temps ranging from 30 to 55 deg F), it was difficult to get warm in the house for some of the family. There was a space heater we used but some complained the bedrooms were cold and the common areas as well. I would love to be there in warmer weather and use the beautiful screened porch and deck/patio. The surroundings on the mountain are beautiful and the neighborhood is quiet. Check in and check out was smooth and overall the house was great for our needs.

Massanutten Chateau

Great property and excellent setup. We were a group of 14 and the home was a perfect setting for our vacation. Thanks to Pam for being so responsive before and after our stay. We did not have any issues where we had to call the property manager. We would certainly stay at this property again.

Beautiful home

Good morning the house that we stayed in was the most beautiful that we have ever visit it was neatly decorated we like to Paris look we had fun at the Funland we cooked out we play games we would like to come back we will like to make this home I vacation spot throughout our years you really have a beautiful home everything was excellent no complaint gorgeous I could go on but don't have enough space really enjoyed the home. We hope we left it the way we came in. Thank you for letting us in. Ready for next year.

Great family stay with lots of space

We had a great weekend with no complaints. It could have been more snow. And Covid made it hard to get into places (water park, skiing, snow tubing) everything by reservation which was a mistake on our part. However, this house is super spacious. We loved the game area in the basement. It kept us all entertained. All my questions were promptly answered by Mrs. Pamela, the owner. We will definitely keep this property on our favorite list and plan a family with friends trip. Thank you for everything Mrs. Pamela!!
