Rosa Castillo is a Latina content creator in the New York/New Jersey area, who, along with her daughter Samantha Rose, run the “Traveling Roses” travel blog. This mother-daughter duo share all about their adventures of embarking on the journey of life by visiting one city at a time.

Through traveling, the duo gets to learn about the history of unfamiliar areas and gain a better understanding of the world they live in. This helps foster a mother-daughter bond like no other allowing them to immerse themselves in different cultures. Traveling is a great way for them to disconnect from the stress of everyday life and create new memories together.

Planning new adventures is always a fun task, so as the year comes to an end we are excited to see what new adventures 2022 will bring. Here are our three bucket list places for 2022 to help fuel your wanderlust and inspire you on where to book your next trip!

 Egypt

After visiting Peru and hiking up Machu Picchu, high on our list is Egypt, home to one of the seven wonders of the world. Not only is Egypt known for the Great Pyramids but here you can marvel at ancient history, cruise along the Nile River, and explore golden sand beaches.

Imagine waking up from your rental home and gazing at the Pyramids of Giza from your balcony, transporting yourself back in time to when the pharaohs ruled the land. The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the oldest of the three main pyramids dating back to the 26th century BC.

Or you can take a cruise along the Nile River, the longest river in the world. One of the most popular trips is taking a river cruise from Cairo to Luxor. Not only do you get to travel along the Nile taking in all the stunning scenery, but it’s a great way to make a stop to visit the Luxor Temples.

Egypt is also home to Egypt’s Red Sea whose coastline offers some of the most pristine beaches in the world. Including beach towns like Hurghada, perfect for scuba diving & snorkeling, thanks to its turquoise waters and coral reefs. Or Dahar, popular for its golden sand beaches and windsurfing. Another great option is Alexandria about two hours from Cairo, popular for its museums & underwater ruins. Here you can find great Vrbo accommodations with ocean views.

Filled with diversity, Egypt is a popular travel destination full of rich history & culture.

Spain

Situated on the Mediterranean another 2022 Bucket List destination is Spain. We love a mix of architecture, culture and food so it’s no surprise Spain is high up on our list. From their famous Flamenco dance, to the Spanish architecture, to delicious tapas & beautiful beaches it’s easy to see why Spain is one of the most visited destinations in the world.

First up is Barcelona, offering something for every explorer. No matter which area of Barcelona you choose to stay in, accessing popular sites is easy thanks to the vast options of transportation.

For the football aficionado a tour of Camp Nou, the largest stadium in Europe, is a must. If architecture is more your speed you can visit La Sagrada Familia, a neo-gothic style church by the famous architect, Antoni Gaudi. Another popular site by Gaudi is Park Guell. This park sits above the city offering grand views of Barcelona and is filled with mosaic ceramic tiles.

Spain is known for delicious tapas which are small dishes; a great way to try different menu items. Some popular dishes include patatas bravas (spicy potatoes), grilled octopus, garlic shrimp & chorizo (sausages). If your mouth isn’t watering yet another famous Spanish dish is Paella, a popular rice dish.

No trip would be complete without visiting one of Spain’s many islands. Situated along the Mediterranean there is Ibiza & Menorca or you can visit Tenerife which is part of the Canary Islands. Ibiza is perfect for those looking for more of the club scene & nightlife. For a family friendly atmosphere then the island of Menorca is a must. This island is smaller in size making it more laid back and less touristy. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands. Here you’ll find beautiful beaches, lush forests & can ride a cable car to one of the volcanoes.

What better way to embrace a country’s culture than by enjoying its local cuisine or marveling at its unique architecture? Spain is a country with a vast variety of attractions that appeals to any traveler; it’s easy to see why this country is such a popular destination.

Costa Rica

Another bucket list country is Costa Rica! What better way to disconnect from everyday distractions than by being right in the middle of nature; hiking up a volcano or zip lining through the rainforest. Puntarenas is home to some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches. Imagine waking up in the middle of the rainforest to the sound of chirping birds, surrounded by nature all within steps of the beach. If you are an adrenaline junkie you can visit their rainforest, zipline, and ride horses along the beach.

Costa Rica has no shortage of popular waterfalls, if you have limited time then we suggest a trip to La Paz  (the peace). With over 100 species of animals, miles of hiking trails, and five waterfalls, it’s easy to see why it is the most popular waterfall.

Visiting Costa Rica wouldn’t be complete without a hike to Volcano Arenal one of the most popular active volcanoes. If you want a relaxing experience, you can visit the famous Tabacon Hot Springs; a thermal hot spring from Volcano Arenal.

Picking your next travel spot can be hard, but with the right planning and research you can end up with the perfect vacation. We hope this list helps fuel your passion for travel and provides some inspiration for some 2022 Travel Bucket List places where you can create some amazing new memories.
