  • Great location, easy parking, lots of space in apartment

"We had a wonderful two week stay here. The apartment is well located right on the beach in Strand with safe, convenient parking. The views from the apartment are stunning! Inside the apartment, there is more than enough space, with a very large master suite, two other bedrooms and a second full bathroom (with separate tub and shower like in the master bathroom), and a half bathroom. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator/freezer and a great amount of counter space. Having a washer & dryer was essential! Having the large dining table plus the bar with stools was more space than we needed, but we enjoyed sitting at different spots for different meals, and I can imagine this being nice for larger families or groups. The continuous, full-height windows and doors along the living and dining areas offered amazing views. While the building is in a quiet area on the beach, it is still within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. Many times we walked on the beach to dinner. Ciao Bella was a favorite for pizza, don't miss the Belgian Waffle House (the owner is from Belgium and uses a secret family recipe for the amazing waffles), and there are a couple liquor stores nearby for wine and beer. Somerset is a quick drive away -- we liked driving along Beach Road all the way despite it being a few minutes longer than taking the highway -- where you'll find all your shopping and dining needs. Also, don't miss Cheetah Outreach there, where you can get up close with the beautiful animals and learn about the fascinating work they are doing to save the wild cheetah population. The few minor issues that arose were quickly and efficiently resolved by the attentive management staff, and in addition the owner communicated with us regularly."

  • Perfect, relaxing holiday

"Our family of 8 people ranging between the ages of 9 and 76 stayed at Groot Constantia Villa for 2 weeks in December 2016. On our arrival, we were greeted by Dennis who gave us a tour of the house and provided us with all the information we needed to ensure we had a safe and comfortable stay. The house itself is amazing, and we didn’t want for anything. We spent most of our time at the house around the pool and in the entertainment area. The kitchen is very well equipped, although most of our cooking was done outside in the braai area. The beds are all very comfortable and the bed linen was changed regularly by the hardworking and attentive staff. We visited the Groot Constantia Vineyard several times and also enjoyed taking walks to the bars and restaurants a short walk away. The Constantia Village is nearby with a Woolworths Food, Pick n Pay, Clicks, etc. Constantia itself is very central and within easy access to the amazing attractions Cape Town has to offer. I would like to give a special mention to Magdalena, our lovely housekeeper. She worked very hard making sure the house was kept clean, bed linen changed and she always had a smile on her face. She is so warm and friendly and I really enjoyed our chats in the kitchen. She always made me laugh and I grew very fond of her. It was very hard to leave the beautiful villa on our return to the UK and I miss Cape Town terribly. We are already planning our next trip and will certainly try to stay at the Groot Constantia Villa again in the future."

  • Ideal sea view apartment with own spacious terrace

"I travelled to Gordon's Bay on my own in March 2017 to visit my ill mother and was fortunate to have stayed at oceanviewapartments.co.za/1-bedroom-penthouse-luxury-apartment/ The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, full of light and had superb elevated sea views. The private outdoor terrace was larger than I'd expected with plenty of space for table & chairs and the sun loungers provided. A portable bbq and large sun umbrella were also available. The apartment also felt incredibly secure - especially important for women travelling alone - and came with lock-up / garage parking too. All in all I wanted for nothing and I wouldn't hesitate recommending the accommodation to anyone, whether for business or leisure. It was great to meet the owners too - they struck a perfect balance between allowing me privacy yet also being there in time of need. During my 11-night stay I happened to find myself in a bit of a pickle late one night and despite it being in the early hours of the morning, Adam and Marcia extended gracious assistance without hint of hesitation or annoyance, which was truly beyond the call of duty. Thank you Adam and Marcia for taking such great care of me. Look forward to meeting again!"

  • Great location! Great value!

"We had a large group stay in ASCOT LODGE consisting of adjoining King, Queen & Jack self catering units and it was a wonderful experience. Barry was flexible in accommodating the group size with beds. The large area in King made nightly dinner easy to prepare, serve and eat together. The smaller lounges in the other cottages made it nice for people to have their own space since the weather was a bit chilly. We hired a private driver which made accessing the city a breeze. We have also in the past used public transit from Heathfield Train Station which is a nice trip to the beaches (Surfers' Corner all the way to the access point to Boulder's Beach). It's a little longer to get to the City Center and Waterfront, but a taxi is not too expensive. The nearby Constantia Valley is gorgeous! Even if you don't like wine the estates are beautiful. There were other groups on the property which we hardly heard because of our location. The ease of the private entry made it simple for us to leave early and arrive late without disturbing others. I would highly recommend staying at Ascot Gardens (just don't take my booking!)."
