  • This was our tenth visit to Arpora. We had been previously been using an apartment on the outskirts

"This was our tenth visit to Arpora. We had been previously been using an apartment on the outskirts of Arpora but this became very noisy after the road was improved and it became a major traffic route at night. It was also some distance from the centre of Arpora which meant using a scooter at night to go out to eat. We therefore looked for another apartment that was nearer the centre of the town but in a quite location and selected Villa Vera. Villa Vera consists of about six blocks of twelve apartments that surround a beautiful swimming pool set in a well kept garden. The complex is situated about 100 metres from the access road to a large top-quality hotel, and is surrounded by a variety of different trees. There is 24 hour security and plenty of covered parking space. As it is some distance from the road, it is quiet and there are no noisy restaurants nearby. However, Villa Vera is also within easy walking distance of the best restaurants in Arpora, so there is no requirement for transport when going out to eat at night. Apartment D2 is to the rear of the building, so does not face out on to the pool. The view from the balcony is to the rear of the hotel complex which obscured to a large extent by attractive trees. We found it to be very private and peaceful and spent several afternoons out there reading books, enjoying the sunshine. The apartment was newly decorated in light colours and the furniture had been refurbished. The kitchen was small but had a full size cooker and a large fridge freezer, and was equipped with a whole selection of saucepans and kitchen tools. This is important to me as we always have breakfast in our apartment and often make our own lunch, and occasionally dinner. I especially like being able to prepare local fruit and vegetables and to cook fish or prawns from the market. There was also a washing machine that we found useful. I would rate the kitchen and the equipment highly. I would also comment that we only saw one or two ants or silverfish during a four week stay. The sofas were new or refurbished and very comfortable. The TV was good and there was also a DVD player which we used a lot. The cane furniture on the balcony was very comfortable too. The double bed was actually two single beds close together, so was large and very comfortable and there were plenty of sheets and pillow cases. The AC was quiet and worked well. The bathroom had a large shower cubicle and the water pressure was high, so it was a joy to..."
