    "From the moment we walked through the gates we were welcomed into a beautifully designed Balinese 'paradise' - a villa offering landscaped gardens, water features and family gathering area then leading down to a relaxing pool. The villa offers a place to enjoy and rejuvenate in wonderful surroundings with gentle caring staff. All our meals were very well catered for by our chef, Katut and our rooms were extremely well appointed - complete with a private traditional outdoor shower / garden...a real plus! With the location of the villa and our driver (organised by the villa ) we were able to explore many tourist high lights. Very suitable for family groups or couples. A fabulous holiday."

  • Nice home but difficult owner

    "While this is a lovely home, renters should be aware of a few things: 1. We made a last minute booking and the owner quoted us a price for 7 people. After we paid his VRBO invoices for the quoted amount and arrived at the villa, the owner sent his onsite manager to collect an additional USD 150 cash for an extra person charge, and threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay. I have 7 emails showing his quote and my payment for 7 ppl yet he accused me of playing games (he was very rude and would not listen to my explanations, just ranted). While this fee is noted in his listing, we asked for the price for 7 people and that’s what we were quoted, invoiced and paid for. I insisted on getting a VRBO invoice not paying cash and paid the extra fee so we wouldn’t get thrown out (with no phone service we couldn’t reach VRBO for help), thinking VRBO would help the owner do the right thing and refund us later but it turns out VRBO doesn’t mediate disputes. It is bad business to charge extra after you have agreed on a price, paid and moved into the house. 2. The extra bed they provided for the 7th person is a small, uncomfortable cot. 3. The house is at the bottom of a steep driveway, so not ideal for people with difficulty walking uphill in extreme heat (most taxis wouldn't drive down it so we had to walk it many times). 4. The promised stereo sound system was missing and the TV’s speaker was so cracked we couldn’t hear what was being said. There is no cell service and WIFI is extremely limited (we had to go to the café across the street to get access). We chose this villa over other options because it advertised these amenities. 5. We saw mice (and droppings) in the kitchen and bedroom. 6. Otherwise, it is a beautiful home with a great pool and incredible views and the staff are wonderful. Good location – a bit away from the town (10 min drive) so quiet but within walking distance of restaurants and beaches."
