  • Cozy private apartment in excellent location

"I enjoyed a wonderful 2-week stay in this studio, just steps away from restaurants, shops, and the charming pedestrian walkway Ben Yehuda and its cross streets. It's less than 5 minutes' walk to the marvelous Machane Yehuda market. The apartment is two flights up, but there is a small elevator for bringing luggage in and out. Eliana's description and photos are accurate. The one place I would differ is on full-service kitchen. I did cook there, but only very simple things. There is a microwave and a single hot plate for cooking. Eliana was there to meet me when I arrived, and was very responsive late that night when I had a maintenance problem. The apartment is charming and cozy. Morning sun keeps it warm on winter days, and the balcony is nice in good weather. The loft bed is a creative use of space, and I had no trouble standing up in the loft area. However, I am only 5'3"; a person much taller would need to stoop while up there. The door into the building is tucked between two small eating places, an Aroma and a bakery. Aroma's outdoor tables extend in front of the door, so my first couple of outings I had to search for my entrance. Note that this section of King George is limited to buses and taxis, and there is no place directly in front of the building for taxis to stop, so I had to get out across the street. There is a crosswalk with signal, so getting across is easy. The apartment has plenty of closet space with hangers, and adequate storage for all my belongings. The heat worked well, and the hot water was quick in the shower every morning. The bed was comfortable, and nights were quiet. I did not hear other residents. It was very helpful to have a washer and dryer handy in the adjacent hall. They were easy to use, and detergent was available. I can definitely recommend this studio for a single or couple. It would be tight quarters for more than that."

  • Mamilla Vacation Rental

"The property was beautiful and in a perfect location for exploring the Old City and downtown modern Jerusalem. The property looked exactly as it did in the photos, and the property was very clean. I was disappointed that after having booked the property many months in advance and supplying the leasing company with our flight information, nobody was there to greet us in the apartment until the next day (even though our flight was on time and we arrived before 6:00 pm). As there has been with other apartments I have rented, there was not a list of instructions (other than the wi-fi information) of how to use things in the property. For instance, we didn't realize you had to turn on the hot water to take a shower (something all six of us needed after hours of travelling); there was a problem with the washer (which was fixed the next day when the leasing agent met us at the unit) - but we were coming to Israel from already having traveled in Europe, and we were looking forward to doing some laundry immediately upon our arrival. The fans in the bathroom did not work, and although we were told they would be fixed, they never were. Also, the parking was very difficult to figure out and could have been better explained (the parking spot numbers are NOT in any sort of order, so it took driving around a busy indoor structure multiple times to actually find the space). Overall, I would recommend staying in the unit because it was very comfortable and well located. However, I would encourage lessors to insist that someone meet them in the unit upon arrival."

  • Amazing location next to Old City

"Ron and Neta are the most gracious hosts. They met us on our arrival and showed us the apartment and gave us several tips for shopping and dining in the neighborhood. Our son's flight was very delayed and they helped us arrange a driver for him and kept track that we all got together. The location of the apartment is absolutely outstanding, about 5 minute walk into the old city and numerous nearby restaurants/shops. The light rail is one block away so it is easy to use to reach the market areas and there are many small grocery stores in walking distance. There are numerous places to get coffee nearby and the apartment has an espresso machine as well. The apartment is very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and living room/kitchen. Having a washing machine is great when travelling with carry-on luggage. The kitchen is well-equipped for travelers; we did not do any major cooking but you can if you want. It was extremely hot when we were in Jerusalem so we were very grateful for the AC, and there are fans in the bedrooms as well. Everything was clean and we really enjoyed our stay. We were travelling with another family and having an apartment next door for them was excellent. If you are a big group, but want a little privacy, the 2 adjacent apartments is a wonderful feature. I highly recommend the apartment, and really enjoyed meeting Ron and Neta, who will look after you well."
