My initial communications with the owner was so helpful and secured our confidence in renting the Villa - she was prompt in replying and answered all of our questions. We stayed at Villa Ananda for 3 days in July. Although it was rainy season, the Villa offered a perfect oasis since we couldn't spend too much time on the beach. The Villa was beautiful - complete with its own swimming pool and massage area! The Villa was comfortable and clean, with modern amenities. What made our stay outstanding was the staff, Ric and Roger, who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Ric was a fantastic cook and helped us with planning our meals and took us on an island hopping excursion. Roger kept the Villa clean and even brought us to the airport. Both were attentive and such a pleasure to have around. The Villa is close to Diniwid Beach (although it was too stormy to swim) and Puka Shell Beach. If the tide wasn't too high, you could walk to White Beach. Because there were 6 of us (and it was usually raining!), we took a multi-cab (similar to an open mini-bus) to White Beach which was about 250Pesos; smaller parties could take a tricycle for about half that price. Ric could call a cab for you or you could wait down at the entrance and flag a tricycle. The property is not on the Beach so don't expect an ocean view, nor is it beside hotels or restaurants; it is a perfect retreat away from tourists and business of the island, if you want some quiet time. The property is surrounded by lush gardens - I thought there would be more mosquitos but it was fine, but bring some repellent just in case. The 3 bedrooms are spacious and 2 full bathrooms well equipped. There is a covered dining area for larger parties and a smaller breakfast nook, both outside. It was handy to have a kitchen so we planned for dining-in which was much easier than going out for dinner in the pouring rain. The best meal we had on the island was actually a simple meal cooked by Ric - freshly steamed crabs, grilled prawns and fish, and bbq chicken - complete with the best mango shakes, and of course San Miguel beer! Overall, the Villa was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.
