Find beach rentals near North Captiva Island Beach

We loved the peaceful car-free atmosphere of North Captiva Island. The beach is very nice, and we also enjoyed the community pool. The Salty Snook is a beautiful house and the hosts were great. Our five-year-old granddaughter was with us, and we appreciated that there were plenty of books, games and puzzles for her.

This was our first time using VRBO and unfortunately the places we stay at in the future will have a hard time living up to the standard that Leslie set at Sea La Vie. She started by including all the information we could possibly need to make our trip there, and stay, as seamless as possible. And truly, it couldn’t have gone any smoother. Then there’s the house, location, and all the amenities. It was beyond all of our expectations. Our family of seven, including 5 adults and two young children had ample space and enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen. My daughter claimed she has never slept so good because of the mattress and pillows in her room. The house is beautifully and artfully decorated with a convenient layout. We loved the convenience of the 2 golf carts and used the kayaks. Our favorite part, though, was the location. We were right on the beach, and literally had it to ourselves for all but one day of our stay. And boy were we entertained daily. Dolphins swam and played sometimes only about 5 yards from the shore. We had a heron regularly visit and the Ospreys entertained us by trying to build a nest on the neighbor’s air conditioning unit. We also saw enormous iguanas (One my granddaughter named Mango because he was orange and green),and shelled to our hearts content. We also spotted many starfish and even a puffer fish in the seaweed. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay and Leslie and Ally were so helpful with everything!!

This was by far our most favorite family vacation to date! We enjoyed the slower, quiet days on the island, starting with having our coffee while looking out through the windows at the ocean. My kids loved to look for shells, as you can walk both ways on their beach. They played ping pong daily down on their outdoor porch area under the home, and my daughter loved reading her book on the hammock. The home had everything we needed, with the view being our most favorite! Wendy was wonderful to work with. We hope to be back again next year!

We have stayed in many VRBO properties and this one was the first that was way better than the pictures can even show . You just have to go see it ! The view never gets old ! Our three teenage boys loved it! Even though there is not much to do on the island - it’s amazing beaches, pool as well as tons of water activities and corn hole were perfect and we were never bored. We saw so many dolphins and could almost touch them out on the kayaks and paddle board . Take some games or use the ones there. It was great to play them at the huge dinning table . We used blue marlin charters and rob was great ! Tortuga did a wonderful job ! We felt very taken care of ! Prepare to sit back and relax ! If there was anything I’d mention that I’d change it would be to prepare better for the no see Um bugs . Got lots of bites outside the first night but this is to be expected when living on an island beach . Get some bug spray w your sunscreen . The blue marlin will have a special place in our heart and I hope we will have the privilege to come back again.

We can not say enough good things about this property, the owner and property manager. From the moment we booked - Joe was attentive to our needs and responded promptly. Yvena the property manager greeted us once we arrived and went above and beyond her duties and was always a quick text away. The home is gorgeous with plenty of room to spread out, very clean and well stocked for entertaining. We hosted several dinner parties with a private chef and the large dining table was perfect! Some highlights of the home include the short walk to the stunning beach - the hot tub for late night entertaining - and the roof top deck to take in the absolutely breathtaking views and sunsets. WOW!! The Stella Maris golf cart was top notch too! Head and shoulders above the one our friends rented from the club. We brought down our boat and were able to keep at the Safety Harbor dock the whole week for a nominal fee. This allowed us to explore the Pine Island Sound including Cabbage Key- Useppa Island- Captiva- Cayo Costa and Boca Grande. Highly recommend renting a boat for a day or two. Our last night was NYE and we dined at The Boathouse. Due to staff shortages, there was only one person working the front and one chef - but they killed it!! We couldn't believe our host/waiter/bartender was getting us our delicious cocktails so quickly! Overall an amazing experience our first time to N Captiva- we will be back and hopefully will be able to stay at Stella Maris again!!
