  • Amazingly Beautiful, Peaceful, Soothing

"We spent 2 nights @ Leila's beautiful cabin at the end of May 2016. The view is magnificent, the amenities are plentiful, and most importantly Leila was a wonderful host. The goodie basket in the fridge was a perfect added touch, as well as the wood stove provided much more and better entertainment than the TV (which we didnt turn on, but if there was hockey worth watching would have been great). Also WiFi was an unexpected touch that came in handy!"

  • Wonderful spot and hosts

"This easy to heat house, packs in a lot of people and exploration. There was plenty of room in the kitchen for big meals. The hot tub was great to use after a day of skiing! totally responsible dog friendly! Ymir has an understated and dignified place to stay. Our needs were met easily with a quick trip into Salma and then Stagleap park met all our backcountry needs. The worst thing about our stay was the VBRO website is funky but contacting the owners directly aided us through it!!"

  • Great Holiday with amazing accomodations!

"The first discussions with Jacqueline and David were easy and very responsive. We were arranging a family get-together with eleven people (including 6 kids). Jacqueline was very accommodating. To be honest, we were a little skeptical to have the owners stay on the property with us. We have rented many times, but this arrangement was different. It turned out to be better than we could imagine! They met us on arrival, so no need to worry about finding keys. They kept to themselves, however, if we had any concerns or questions, they were never put out to answer. Jacqueline took the kids on a little hike one morning, and lent some hiking boots to my son, who didn't have adequate footwear! They also built us a fire pit, so the kids could enjoy roasting marshmallows in the evenings! Upon arrival, they gave us a list of recommendations for entertainment, restaurants in Kaslo, great hiking trails, and other activities! I can't say enough about their warm and friendly hospitality. The house is beautiful inside and out. There was lots of cooking ware, sundry items, towels. One thing I would recommend is providing a baking sheet, but that's being picky. All the rooms were very clean and the beds were really comfortable. The view of the lake is breath-taking! I miss waking up to my coffee on the deck. The only disappointing part of our vacation was that the lake in July was too cold to swim in. So we had to drive a little ways to a smaller lake if the kids wanted to swim. But of course, that is no reflection on Dayspring Lodge! I would highly recommend staying here for a family vacation- such a beautiful place to stay, and lots of activities to do near Kaslo!! Some of the activities we did were: Lardeau River Rafting Adventures, Cody Caves, and Ainsworth Hot Springs. Buddy's Pizza in Kaslo was delicious!"
