  • Somewhere we'd aspire to live!

"My best friend and I recently spent 3 nights at Amata for our annual girls' getaway, and we could have easily stayed a week ... or more! The suite is fresh + comfortable, lovely, full of thoughtful touches, and equipped with everything you might need for a short trip away. It also stays quite cool on hot summer days! Jason + Brett are welcoming and kind hosts, and truly made us feel as though we were at home. We thoroughly enjoyed simply sitting around on the deck with our morning coffee - which opens out onto their beautiful garden - listening to contented bees buzz amongst the lavender and watching deer and fawns amble happily around the property. We liked that it was just far enough off the main road, but still quite close to Ganges, and otherwise pretty central to getting around the rest of the island. The view at the top of Mt Maxwell is well worth the drive up. If you're around on Saturday for the famous farmer's + artisan's market, do go early! We also highly recommend one of Brett's yoga classes in the pyramid, it's accessible for yogis of all levels. We usually don't repeat locations for our summer getaways, choosing to visit somewhere different each year, but we are already contemplating a return to the calm + beauty of Amata again next year!"

  • Lovely stay on Salt Spring

"The cabin was perfect for our little getaway and Bruce was wonderful with accommodating some scheduling changes. Salt Spring is always a treat and we will for sure return to the happy nest when we can!"

  • A jewel on the edge of the water

"The house is wonderful. It's beautifully decorated, clean, contemporary and well appointed. The house is on the edge of the bay, with the beach directly past the house's lawn. In the bay, in front of the house, there is harbor with a working marina. The kayaking expedition rental company a few hundred feet away from the yard, so you can see them stage kayaks for their daily trips. Looks fun. The deck, facing the water is wonderful. We had our meals our there and spent most of our time lounging about on the large outdoor couch. There's a BBQ and a dinning table. The other thing that you should take into account is that this house is located on the edge of a working town. There is active traffic that passes the house all day. It's not too distracting, but it is there. It calms down a lot at night and didn't prove to be a problem. It's wonderful being so close to town. We almost didn't need our car. Everything was "just around the corner". Good grocery, cute shops, boating, bars and restaurants, etc... You name it. Over all it was a lovely rental with very conscientious owners. Just be aware the house is not secluded, but it is relatively private."
