  • Ideal cabin in the wood with afternoon sun

"We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. We really appreciate how well equipt the cabin was and the little details like good knives, lovely sheets and the lounging chairs on the porch. We thoroughly enjoyed all that Salt Spring Island had to offer and the cabin was a perfect oasis in the trees."

  • What an incredible place!

"Our family really enjoyed the cottage - it was such a cozy place (and so much history) and had everything we needed....including the beautiful views - just steps to the beach and sitting at night on the deck enjoying the propane fire pit looking out over the water, it was awesome.... can't wait to be able to go back! Thanks so much for Janet and Yadira! Was such a nice treat for us to have this little get away!"

  • Quiet, cozy getaway

"We, four adults and four dogs, enjoyed the Fernwood beach house. It had everything we were looking for, a quiet, pet friendly location. The two bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need and we spent most of our time on the deck, looking out at the ocean. It's about a twenty minute drive to town and there's plenty to see on Saltspring Island. We visited a winery, brewery, and cheese maker and enjoyed our purchases on the deck in the evening."

  • A perfect little cottage to unwind

"Captain's quarter is the perfect place to unwind. I stayed there with my husband and my son as well as my parents who were visiting from Montreal. My parents slept in the bedroom on the main floor, my husband, my son and myself slept in the very comfy king size bed upstairs. The beds are comfy, the atmosphere and deco are bang on, the fireplace is perfect, the location of the cottage is great. Quiet neighbourhood, even though the house is on the road, you don't even notice the odd car drive by. 10 minute walk to a park right on the beach for the kids. From the house you can watch the ferry that comes in from Victoria every few hours. The house is a flight of stairs away from the beach. Nice drive to Ruckle provincial park, the cheese shop, the ale tasting shop, mount Maxwell, the wineries (check winter hours, not open very often), so close to bakery, grocery store. We even had the chance to meet the owner, Razali, and what a nice guy. We even went to visit his amazing art Gallery in Ganges. Beautiful pieces in there. Overall, I would recommend 100% this place to anyone looking to escape the city. You do need to bring an axe or something to make kindling wood. The house comes with tons of wood but no kindling. You need to make yourself. And also bring paper to help start the fire. Otherwise all you have are big pieces of wood to burn. The house also comes with a great set of knives. We usually bring our own as there is nothing worse than cutting with dull knives, but we didnt need to use them. Have fun to the next visitors!!!! Martine (Vancouver, Bc)"
