  • Somewhere we'd aspire to live!

"My best friend and I recently spent 3 nights at Amata for our annual girls' getaway, and we could have easily stayed a week ... or more! The suite is fresh + comfortable, lovely, full of thoughtful touches, and equipped with everything you might need for a short trip away. It also stays quite cool on hot summer days! Jason + Brett are welcoming and kind hosts, and truly made us feel as though we were at home. We thoroughly enjoyed simply sitting around on the deck with our morning coffee - which opens out onto their beautiful garden - listening to contented bees buzz amongst the lavender and watching deer and fawns amble happily around the property. We liked that it was just far enough off the main road, but still quite close to Ganges, and otherwise pretty central to getting around the rest of the island. The view at the top of Mt Maxwell is well worth the drive up. If you're around on Saturday for the famous farmer's + artisan's market, do go early! We also highly recommend one of Brett's yoga classes in the pyramid, it's accessible for yogis of all levels. We usually don't repeat locations for our summer getaways, choosing to visit somewhere different each year, but we are already contemplating a return to the calm + beauty of Amata again next year!"

  • Great secluded hidewaway

"My family and I spent a week at this cottage and highly recommend this one for small families as the property is quite expansive. Lots to do here, volleyball , horseshoes, teatherball, kids playground, badminton, etc...we spent a lot of time mountain biking around the grounds it is that big ! The real star of the show is the hot tub on the deck. It was how we started and ended our activity laden days and is great rain or shine while taking in the beautiful view. If you are looking to unplug with deer at your doorstep, quiet nights and the smell of sea air this is the place!"

  • Lovely Cabin near Kinsol Trestle

"This cabin is very clean, very nicely designed, and the kids loved it. Great access to river, swimming hole, Kinsol Trestle, and Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park (and just as important, also a short drive to the fabulous bakery in Shawnigan Lake!). The home has plenty of space for a family, and is nicely furnished--and has a wonderful porch for sitting in the mornings. The community is quiet, and very family friendly."

  • Quiet and restful stay

"Summary: A convenient and restful stay. Bryant was helpful in responding promptly. Instructions in the house were clear and concise. If staying with couples note it's not super private but that's clear in the description. Pros: Easy to check in/out Nice view Quiet and restful stay! Great communication with Bryant Coffee/water and snacks provided Well cleaned bedding, towels, kitchen, floors and bathroom Affordable/good wifi Shampoo and soap provided! Cons: Musty smell only in the bathroom Bathroom adjoins bedroom/entrance: privacy an issue if having 4 guests especially in the morning or night"
