  • Enjoyable stay!

"Loved the fact that this property is ocean front. Saw lots of wildlife. ☺ Would have liked to have lounges to sunbath and a fire pit to enjoy the nights. Had all the amenities we needed and the kitchen lacked nothing. Clean and bright. Nice beds. Good place to chill!"

  • Memorable Vacation

"My wife and two young daughters just returned from a 5 day trip (beginning of August) to Vancouver Island where we stayed at this home. It was such an amazing holiday and the house definitely had A LOT to do with that. The entire process was easy. The directions emailed with the provided instructions on how to gain access to the home were great. The ability to contact the owner directly made our stay so much more comfortable. Finally, the cleanliness of the home and property exceeded our expectations. The home is VERY clean and spacious. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to make a meal - simple or fine dining. Essentials like coffee, sugar, cleaning supplies, and a nice bottle of wine were also included. Having access to in-house laundry is a God send, especially travelling with two young kids. The patio is inviting and the secured wifi and Shaw TV is the icing on the cake! The pool is less than a minute walk from the patio and the beach is 3 minutes. We made many visits to the beach, day and night and it quickly became our favorite thing to do during our stay. This was our very first visit to the island and having Qualicum Beach as a home base was a smart move. We travelled as far south as Victoria and Sidney, north to Comox, and west to Port Alberni. Coming back to the house after each outting truely felt like we were coming home. The home is close to parks, cafes, and grocery stores. It is situated right on the coastal road so it was easy to find and quick to get around. Only problem is that we eventually had to get back to reality. 4 nights, 5 days was just enough to get a taste of island relaxation but next time we visit it will have to be for a few days longer. From our experience, our next visit to the island will see us again at this house!!! It truely felt like we were at home on Vancouver Island - great house to be in!!!"

  • A spacious , comfortable place to stay in a lovely area

"We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing month at Claire and Martin's vacation rental. It was really clean, quiet and comfortable and had everything our family needed and more. There is plenty of room for four or five people and our son's dog was very happy there too, especially when let loose to run on the Deep Bay beach near low tide. From the VRBO description, we were not expecting luxury but it was spacious, very well equipped and had some very nice features. A super comfortable king bed. A huge, private deck which was great for having meals outside and relaxing. Although there is no range, there is a large portable convection oven that worked very well. We did appreciate having a washing machine and clothes line. Unlike a previous reviewer, we did not feel that AC was necessary when the weather was hot: we used the fans and shut the blinds during the day when we were outside and opened up most blinds at night to let cool breezes come in. At the end of the spit an uncrowded sandy beach was great for safe swimming. At the other end next to the Deep Bay RV park was a good place for launching kayaks. Seal Bay and Nymph Falls parks, near Comox, have lovely trails through beautiful forest so we visited them several times. The Deep Bay marina is very close and we enjoyed evening strolls there to watch for wildlife and see fishing boats returning near sunset. We saw seals, herons, kingfishers and even river otters. In early September, after some cooling rain, salmon were returning to spawn and Martin very kindly knocked on our door to tell us that salmon were in the creek at the bottom of the property! The owners' genuine hospitality was a special bonus."
