  • Wonderful cabin experience

"Clean and comfortable cabin with all the amenities including a barbecue! Comfortable bed, clean kitchen. Dock is gorgeous. You can sit and relax plus the water was really nice - I don't swim in lakes often but this was a nice lake, not too cold and seemed clean! Went for a nice hike on a path in the woods right across the street. Absolutely stunning surroundings. Had the chance to meet the landlord and she was very friendly and very informative and helpful. Great experience. Will definitely book again.."

  • Sproat lake awesomeness!

"another great stay up at this lake, easily the warmest and cleanest lake you'll ever find. Great house to stay at, with an awesome yard and a great deck for hanging out on, it's got everything you'd ever want without being pretentious or stuffy. It's comfy, just the way you want to be at the lake, yet it's still a huge piece of property that gives you lots of privacy and the best beach around ( no weeds and the kids can walk all the way to the dock ladder, so you don't have to be a helicopter parent all day). Great times, highly recommended"

  • Perfect Getaway

"My husband and I recently returned from a week spent at this incredible find. This unique gem was such a pleasant surprise for us. Any description can not do it justice as it is the total package that makes it such a wonderful destination. Admittedly the hot weather was an important part of our experience but the heat pump provided a cool escape for those who might need it. There were people around most of the time, but the thoughtful placement of the home always gave us a sense of our own privacy. What really surprised us was how warm the water was, supposedly the warmest north of California, which made it perfect for all types of water activities. If one has a small boat or kayak, there is a public access nearby. We concur with all positive reviews by others and have no further suggestions for improvement. We hope to return again in the not too distant future."

  • A spacious , comfortable place to stay in a lovely area

"We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing month at Claire and Martin's vacation rental. It was really clean, quiet and comfortable and had everything our family needed and more. There is plenty of room for four or five people and our son's dog was very happy there too, especially when let loose to run on the Deep Bay beach near low tide. From the VRBO description, we were not expecting luxury but it was spacious, very well equipped and had some very nice features. A super comfortable king bed. A huge, private deck which was great for having meals outside and relaxing. Although there is no range, there is a large portable convection oven that worked very well. We did appreciate having a washing machine and clothes line. Unlike a previous reviewer, we did not feel that AC was necessary when the weather was hot: we used the fans and shut the blinds during the day when we were outside and opened up most blinds at night to let cool breezes come in. At the end of the spit an uncrowded sandy beach was great for safe swimming. At the other end next to the Deep Bay RV park was a good place for launching kayaks. Seal Bay and Nymph Falls parks, near Comox, have lovely trails through beautiful forest so we visited them several times. The Deep Bay marina is very close and we enjoyed evening strolls there to watch for wildlife and see fishing boats returning near sunset. We saw seals, herons, kingfishers and even river otters. In early September, after some cooling rain, salmon were returning to spawn and Martin very kindly knocked on our door to tell us that salmon were in the creek at the bottom of the property! The owners' genuine hospitality was a special bonus."
