  • Wonderfully quiet cottage close to the sea

"What a WONDERFUL week long vacation in Caddy's Carriage house. We stayed here with our 7 year old son, and he loved the loft and the "cozy cabin" as he put it. It is within walking distance to a local grocery and drug store, a coffee shop, a few restaurants, trinket/clothing shops, and a board rental shop. We were able to rent a few boards and do some paddle boarding in Cadboro Bay. What a delightful experience! The cottage was cute and quaint and we felt right at home. The amenities including laundry on site, toaster oven, and a small stove were also very helpful. There is also a BBQ grill out back that we used to grill some salmon we caught on one of our days out fishing. What a great experience to be able to go "home" after a busy day sight seeing and relax either in the cottage or a be a few minutes away from the sandy beaches of Cadboro Bay. Thanks to Kathleen and John for a little piece of heaven and such great hospitality."

  • Great Location and Well Maintained Property

"We recently stayed for a week at this property. The house is in a great location, central to a lot of places in Victoria. We were there for a family event so it was nice and close to people we were visiting and downtown. Matthew and Chris have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The house is clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed a BBQ one evening and sat out on the deck. My only comment for families (we have 3 children under the age of 12) is that the house has hardwood floors and Matthew and Chris live downstairs to I was always a bit nervous of little footsteps making too much noise or voices carrying. Other than that, our stay was great and I would recommend this property."

  • Great Place, Great Location

"First, thanks to our hosts Deborah and Dave for making us feel welcome at Woodruff Cottage, which we had the pleasure of visiting for three days in early summer. They generously shared raspberries, cherries, and greens from their extensive gardens. The cottage is clean, quiet, private, and very comfortable, with a fully-equipped kitchen. We walked to the nearby Mosi Bakery Cafe in 5 minutes or along the interurban trail to the Red Barn Market grocery in 15-20 minutes. (Or ride bikes, if you have some, as we did.) We also rode our bikes to the gardens of the HCP (Horticultural Centre of the Pacific). It's only a 5 to 10 minute drive to Brentwood Bay, and Butchart Gardens, and several bay-view restaurants, such as Blue's Bayou Cafe and the Brentwood Bay Resort Pub. Bottom Line: We had a wonderful time at Woodruff Cottage and look forward to visiting again."

  • Amazing views

"This house was fabulous. It was wonderful getting up every morning and having coffee on the deck looking at the amazing, peaceful views. Did not cook while we were there, but I can certainly imagine spending time in the kitchen with the picture window. We loved canoeing, and generally loved the privacy of the location. Driving to Victoria was an easy 10 minute drive. Bathroom vanities are not great for laying out a bunch of cosmetic stuff, and would not be recommended for a bunch of women needing to get ready at the same time. That being said, I would definitely stay here again."
