  • Would definitely recommend it

"We stayed at this house in Tofino for a week for a family vacation (at one point we had three kids, two grandmas & grandpas, a great grandma, two dogs, etc etc) and it was fantastic. The house is very kid friendly and Jason left us a high chair, baby gate for the stairs and a crib as well as a kennel for the dogs. It is a 10min walk to the surfing beach and a 5min drive to downtown Tofino. Some of our group are considering moving here now! Absolute paradise. The house is very well stocked as well, with a hot tub, full kitchen, cable TV with DVDs, a BBQ and two bathrooms (one of which has skylights!). The restaurants downtown are also amazing, as are the art galleries filled with art from local artists. We would also definitely recommend taking a boat or float plane to Hot springs cove while you are here."

  • Perfect setting!

"Cedarview House is a perfect place for two or three couples to stay. It is a beautiful and private wooded retreat only a short drive from downtown Tofino. We enjoyed the hot tub daily and loved the fire pit, the wooded setting and sitting on the back deck. Chesterman beach is a short walk! We did feel that a few simple improvements could make this cabin in the woods so much more special. It lacks basics like hotel-style bath amenities (shampoo and conditioner, soap, hair dryers in every room, and bath mats). The bathrooms are poorly lit and the mirrors are set too high for most women. Things don't dry quickly in Tofino, so more towel racks or bars would be nice. Shower curtains that reach the floor or, better yet, shower doors for the two rooms with showers so water doesn't go everywhere in the bathroom. We were two couples, but the set up is ideal with en suite baths for three couples. Upgraded bedding and linens would add a five-star feel to each room. We also would recommend a full length mirror for each. Better lighting throughout the house would be lovely given the shady wooded setting. Stronger light bulbs with dimmers would add some light. Some basic kitchen supplies are also missing or in poor condition. Sharp knives or serving bowls were at a premium or unavailable. We felt a few basics like aluminum foil, window or kitchen cleaner could have been useful, in addition to coasters to protect some of the lovely wooden furniture. The house was clean, but anything to help keep things tidy for a week would be nice. We were also concerned that there may be mold present in some of the damper corners of the house. The closet for the bedroom to the left as you enter the house smells strongly of mold and could be an indication of a bigger problem. Although we suggest these few upgrades, we would recommend Cedarview house and had a wonderful visit. We give the location and setting five stars and the house itself, three. This really is a great spot and our trip was fantastic."

  • Awesome Vacation Home!

"We had such a great time staying at this house in Tofino. Our family of 7 (us, 3 kids and 2 grandparents) felt like we had so much space. The layout is perfect with the bedrooms on the opposite end of the house as the family room. We could put our youngest child to bed and let the older ones stay up playing pool in the games room. It's the perfect location - close enough to bike into town or to the beach. You can even take a 20min walk to get the best fish tacos at the Tacofino food truck. The kitchen had everything we could possible need (even a pot for our crab dinner). Thanks so much!"

  • Beautiful property in the Town of Tofino

"We have been to Tofino many times and have always stayed on the beach. We wanted to see what it was like to stay in town and this is the first time we have done so. Lucky for us as this was a great place to stay. We arrived a bit late the first evening because, although we live in Victoria, we had flown in from a weekend in Alberta and our plane had been delayed. This was no problem for Tom and Christine, and they were very accommodating. When we woke up the next morning, the views from the condo of Meares Island and Clayoquot (a protected Unesco site) were breathtaking. Eagles flew over our patio every day. The comings and goings of fishing trawlers, excursion boats and float planes were better than watching t.v. And speaking of t.v., although there isn't one in this condo, you won't miss it at all. There is too much to do and see in Tofino to bother with t.v. I took our teenage daughter to Mermaid Tales, the amazing local bookstore, and she read the whole time we were there (when she wasn't surfing or shopping in one of the cute local shops). The condo itself was lovely and the photos almost don't do it justice. And yes, you can lay in bed and enjoy the view - a real treat. We love to cook, and the kitchen and barbecue exceeded what you find in most vacation rentals. The only hitch for us was that the wifi didn't work well but Tom is aware of that and I'm sure it will be rectified (as best it can, as Tofino in general does not have good wifi). This is the only reason I didn't give the property 5 stars. I would certainly recommend this vacation rental."
