  • This North Vancouver (Deep Cove) house worked great for our summer family vacation!

"We stayed here for a week in July 2016. The listing description accurately described the property, location, layout, and amenities. The house is not air-conditioned; we did use fans at night. There are many windows and skylights that open and allow pleasant cross breezes that kept the house cool and comfortable. The property was clean. Parking space was sufficient. House has a beautiful view out the rear to the Deep Cove harbor. Houses on both sides are very close to the property, but during our visit one was empty and the other seemed occupied only on the weekend. Hot tub is located in the yard down below the first floor rear deck. Small village of Deep Cove consists of two blocks of retail shops, casual eateries (including coffee shops and pizza), dock and kayak rentals, businesses, and one nicer restaurant. It’s a ten-minute stroll downhill from the property, with then a moderately strenuous uphill walk back up to the property. We met the owner, Paul, who happened to greet us upon arrival (he and his wife live in a separate “manager’s apartment” beneath the two-story rental property). He was gracious and friendly, giving us some instructions regarding usage and advice regarding available activities, local shopping and dining, etc. Although we did not need him, he was easily available to us onsite and provided his cell number as well. We would recommend this property subject to the following pros and cons: PROS: scenic location and views; nice house that worked well for our family of four adults, with three separate bedrooms, large TV, internet, ping pong table, laundry facilities, and outdoor deck with a gas grill. Deep Cove is a picturesque, small village in quick walking distance, with easy access to North Vancouver towns and activities. CONS: distance from downtown Vancouver (depending on location of your desired activities); upstairs en suite bathroom sink was very small, with minimal counter space; both showers are small stalls; the condition of kitchen cabinets, appliances, and bathrooms was average, but all worked well. If you are easy going and not expecting new or fancy accommodations, this place will work well for you, as it did for our family. Local activities we enjoyed: Deep Cove village (including Arm’s Reach restaurant and the locally famous Honey’s Doughnuts); Deep Cove Kayak Rentals; Quarry Rock trail and lookout; Mt. Seymour Park trails; and visits to other North Vancouver towns, seawalls, and parks."

  • Met our needs. Needs some repairs and some TLC

"10 adults 2 small children. Room for everyone. Great great location and ocean view. Large deck and kitchen and living room. Not crowded. Loved that there was no tv in the main areas!! Used the water toys and kayaks. Need water shoes for beach. Kitchen big enoughthatmany people could help cook at same time. Close to many happening places and tourist things. Spa 10 mins away. Cons: oven not working Washer and dryer worked but not well. BBQ out of propane when we arrived. Bedding old and worn but useable. Furniture old and worn but again useable. Reminded me of our summer lake cabin where items worked but was all the old stuff from home. Although again very big and spacious main living areas. We would rent again because it worked for our large group and the location was awesome for us. But I would hope some repairs would be made ( or general upkeep). Overall 4/5😎򓠽𦑙🍷󭰽𣑍"

  • Great Stay

"I depend on a lot on the VRBO reviews myself so I will try to be as detailed as possible. First the positives: If you are looking for a location close to the beach, this is it. The beach is a 5 min walk down a path along the adjacent grounds of the Beach Club resort. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and the path has a hose to wash the sand off on your way back. You are also very close Parksville Community park with a great playground for the kids with a splash park and ice cream trucks parked all day. The condo itself has a nice indoor pool and hot tub that is well maintained, very secure building and parking and a gym. The updated kitchen in the condo is great and had everything we needed and more. The bathroom is also very clean with a spacious tub. The bed and linens were soft and comfy and we even used the sofa bed in the living room for my son and that was comfy and clean as well (huge plus when the beds and linens are so clean). The negatives may seem petty, but I promised to include a detailed review: the biggest negative for us was the street noise which we are not used too. The condo faces the main boulevard, I had to wear ear plugs at night because the trucks and multiple cars that passed by all night. The condo appeared to only have single pane windows so if it had a double that may have helped. We got used to it though and the air conditioning does drown it out a bit. The carpet in the bedroom was a little stained and dirty in some areas which does not match the rest of the condo because the floors were clean and in such great shape. All in all our stay was great and we hope to make it back very soon!"

  • Truly a most excellent location!!

"1) Location, location, location! This rental property is within easy walking distance to the wharf, downtown, BC Museum, and all other central attractions. I loved the proximity to the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Just one short block away, I enjoyed daily morning walks in the park and beach walkway. The kids loved the park as well, including the children's farm and their favorite - the watering can/splash pad. Can't beat the location. Close to attractions but still within a quit neighborhood. 2) cleanliness - the place is impeccably clean and fully stocked for those who chose to cook. Well appointed and tastefully decorated. Beds are very comfortable, which you'll appreciate after a long day of adventuring. The steam shower in the master was a welcome night cap. 3) Value- I looked at 30+ Lodging options, including rentals and hotels, and Delia's place is hands down the best value. Excellent property in a most excellent location. Thank you Delia for a wonderful stay in beautiful Victoria."
