  • Excellent stay

"We had an excellent stay at the Loves' residence. I find the home's location to be ideal for those who, like us, enjoy biking in Naramata: you can walk to or bike to the beach, if you don't mind a steep but short uphill coming back, KVR is also within biking distance (going up to it on Arawana road is quite a steep uphill, but hey, going home you cruise downhill). Despite proximity to the beach, the house is high enough that you can enjoy amazing lake views at sunset from the patio and from the bedroom windows. Being close to the Manitou beach made it very convenient for us, because we were vacationing with kids, and the kids could (and did) just spend entire days there. Since the house was so close, we could just stay at the beach until very late, and could either drive or bike there. The house itself is well designed for groups. Most of the space is wisely used for bedrooms (there are 6!), and it is possible to close off the downstairs portion of the house with a door leading into the dining room, so that one group or family is separated from another and has extra privacy. There are two patios, one with a grapevine terrace, and another one in the garden. The garden has swings, grassy areas and is surrounded by a small fence -- ideal for families with children, because children can play there without the danger of running into the road. Beyond that, the house has good supplies and is otherwise very nice and convenient. Communication with the owners was prompt and efficient. Christine and Tony, the people who clean and manage the property were wonderful, responsive, kind and understanding. I highly recommend this house."

  • A Quiet Oasis

"This property was ideal for our group which consisted of 6 adults and 3 children under 3. We were looking for a place to get away and relax and enjoy some time on the water. We found everything we were looking for here. We spent 6 nights at Leigh and Sue's home and it really was a home. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need including Tupperware and coolers to take some food to the beach. We prepared all sorts of meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and never seemed to miss any kind of dish or cooking utensil. Also there were several books and DVDs to pass the time. The deck was exactly as pictured and we spent our evenings enjoying the comfortable deck furniture and took dips in the hot tub. The views were amazing and the deck offered quiet solitude when needed. The private dock was time well spent and I highly recommend guests take advantage of their generous offer. They have life jackets, deck chairs, hammock, kayaks etc and we had a great time there. We were joined by some friends on a couple occasions and on those days we enjoyed the very private public beach nearby (Killaney). Just take a left on Hodges road and follow the road down to the water. We had a music blasting and beer flowing and nobody bothered us there. We felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. Keep in mind we were there the week before school ended so I am not sure if it gets busier when the kiddies are out of school. Leigh and Sue were close by and able to attend to any needs that arose during our stay but we had everything we needed to bunker down for 6 days. It was nice to be able to park our car in their garages so they were cool when we drove down to the beach. Also we were really glad we chose to spend some time on the west side of Lake Okanagan as it was much quieter than the other side. We would definitely recommend this home to large groups who are looking for a well-equipped home near the water."
